Nearly 4 years and 6 pages and not one person has noticed WHERE the ball landed. It looks like it 'may' have hit the (possible) 'wet patch of sweat' that players leave when rubbing their hands in that corner of the table. It may have possibly caused the ball to 'stick and roll' on the table...
