Is there any way to mitigate the lack of effective defence in short pips forehand? Since it’s very easy to lose points when opponents play an aggressive and high quality shot to the forehand (at least from observations of my gameplay and pros as well). The only exception was for Falck in R64...

I’m actually quite surprised how you describe basswood as quite dead. Does basswood have a variety of densities and types? Since basswood blades such as old DHS 08’s (similar to the one I’m using right now) seem quite dense in structure and rebounds well.

Oh yeah, for your backhand topspin , I agree with the people that said your racket angle is too closed. It’s actually kinda unnoticeable at first, but to open your racket face you could simply rotate your lower arm rather than just completely relying on thumb pressure.

If your arms hurt, blame your technique. If your fingers hurt, THEN blame the racket. A good rule of thumb is to sand when you go on a losing rampage. After you sand to a point, you end up winning satisfactory amounts of your games, or just completely delete the handle.

I guess Adam Bobrow is a fine specimen then.
