First I will say that the Goriki is a different beast-and while it has high control, its attacking properties (imo) is VERY limited. But I will also add I like a little harder sponge than 729 super soft 35 degree-729 tackspeed in 2.0 is a very versatile rubber and great for control, defense and...
I will use it if I can't find a review for certain material or need some ideas about how to play against a certain style. I basically use it as a semi-enhanced search engine. I prefer info from TT forums.
10 weeks is plenty of time to give a blade a good trial, assuming you have your rubbers all set. Also assuming you are not playing once a week. That said, I think the longer you play with a certain set up that you continue to get more comfortable with a set up over time and even over a year or...
I have to give Sanwei credit for trying, but at some point repeated releases of a rubber suggest an inability to deliver what buyers want. I for one would just go with either Hurricane 3 if that is what one wants. For me I think Friendship Battle 2 provincial or national versions is the way to...
How do we do matches? Mature players handle disagreements like adults. I would say in a day tournament where I play 10 singles matches there are one or two points that we disagree about (was it an edge ball or side ball; what the score is). I for one would rather lose than win by cheating, so I...
I have always felt that while I want to train and get better or play competitive matches, that I have a responsibility to work with lower rated players. (And yes, there are players even worse than me). Every player who goes to a club should spend at least some time working with a lower level...
As the great Paula Abdul sang:
STRAIGHT up now tell me, do you to love me forever (oh, oh, oh)
Or am I caught in a hit and run
STRAIGHT up no tell me, do you really want to love me forever (oh, oh, oh)
Or you just having FUN?
Yes says almost every LP player ever. I have the filus blade and have tried it with a number of different rubbers-almost all fast. I found the filus to be to flexy for very fast rubbers for me. Prefer more linear.
I am settled on R7 max on backhand and RX 2.0 on forehand on the Falck carbon blade. RX is a nice upgrade in speed for R7. I agree R7 is not a great forehand rubber in my experience.
I am in the transition from Falck W7 to Falck carbon and have been playing around with R7. For me it is meh on my FH, but on my backhand R7 is absolutely awesome and plays like a rocket with the right stroke. I have no idea why.
