What’s the better glue in your opinion?

Hi guys.

Getting some new rubbers in a couple of days (Dignics 05 and Rakza 7 on a ovtcharov innerforce alc.

I’m just curious what glue you’d reccomend using for these and if it makes a big difference?

I’m torn between the following:

Butterfly Free Chack Pro 2
DHS15

Thanks in advance

Both a good. I like DHS 15 as it is easier to remove later on and easy to work with.

The butterfly glue is thicker IMO and makes it difficult to remove rubbers if you are the type who kikes to keep rubbers etc. But if that is not an issue then both will be great.

Depending the rubber used: for Chinese hard sponge & heavy weigh I used Nittaku Finezip good but expensive, Revolution Nº3 high viscosity good not too expensive and now I'm using DHS Nº15 all 3 are very good, also listened some good comments from Sueke or similar name from Aliexpress but can't confirm the quality.

I find it kind of difficult to glue with DHS 15 as it gets dry so fast especially on the blade
I don't understand the problem using DHS Nº15 for fast dry because the only important thing is to left the glue transparent before glue the rubber with the blade...

it feels like it's dry before I have time to put it evenly on the rubber / blade

same for me with nittaku finezip, only worked when i watered it down. otherwise, it dries before I've even brushed it across a whole rubber or blade and clumps up

I like Revolution 3 for anything non boosted, and DHS 15 for boosted. If you don't seal the blade, DHS 15 clumps quickly, so you need to seal, or use R3 for the blade, I do that and it's fine. Others have said to moist the sponge or indeed add some water to it. It is said R3 has more catapult than DHS15, but I cannot really feel this in a significant way with 1-2 layers.

Edit: With sealed blades, DHS 15 is all good.

DHS No.15. Revolution is easier to apply but the ease of removing DHS15 is just too big of a difference-maker. It took some practice to get the technique down but once you figure it out it's quick and easy. Some tips for DHS users:

  • Be sure to shake the bottle (especially the 500mL) for consistency.
  • The white DHS sponges suck - literally, they suck up glue. Use something else. The Revolution sponge is actually really good.
  • Start with more glue per layer than you think you need, and adjust down on subsequent attempts until you know how much you need. It's a bit messy, but TT glue is super easy to clean, and using too much (at first) means you don't have to worry about it drying before you finish spreading it.
  • Wipe the excess glue off of your sponge as soon as you're done applying a layer. Letting excess glue dry to the sponge will mess up applying your next layer.

Whichever is cheaper I think both are fine. FineZip is, in my circle at least, the most consistently praised glue, but it is rather expensive.

Best glue I ever used was Copydex, which would be convenient for you as you are in the UK. One time I used Paddle Palace EZ Pro and that was a steaming pile of dog water, literally and figuratively.

Using high viscosity glue as other people pointed requires sake the bottle before use, apply thin layers so better use a clean sponge, if you left to dry the glue in the sponge you can't do thin layers so I moisten the sponge with water before use & also benefits to apply thin layers.
