ovtcharov innerforce alc splintering?

is the ovtcharov innerforce alc prone to splintering? since it does use a limba outer ply, i was wondeirng if it was the same case as with DHS or stiga innercarbon blades (even DHS koto blades are prone to splintering). assume that i will not be sealing and i will only use one layer of glue on the sponge and blade (maybe 2 at max on the sponge).
i cant dfecide between ovctahrov innerforce and tb alc. if the ovtcahorv is prone to splinteirng i will purchase the tb alc. if not, i will
get the ovtcharov innerforce alc because thers more feealing since its inner-carbon and more dwell which i like for my game

Why spend good money and then ask for trouble by not sealing ?
since sealing changes the feeling (albeit slightly). im just wondering if it will. (if i use one layer of dhs no. 15 on blade and spoge. If it does splinter, i will just get tb alc. if not i will get this.

Gluing rubber on instead of using the blade as just a wood surface also changes the feeling. I wouldn't worry about it and just seal it unless your sponsor gives you 50 of them a year.

a good tabletennis sealer does not change the feeling, i even tested this with my own blade and only sealed one side and used two red vega x on both sides and it felt completely the same. i even gave it around in my club and asked who can spot the sealed side and most agreed that they can not find it. there where only two people who thought they can spot the difference because they said it felt harder and less dwell, but both of them where wrong...
so just seal it and be happy!

I have had 2 ovtcharov innerforce alc for years and had no issues with splintering.

As you say though I have someone who has sealed thousands of blades do mine.

As per megaspin website, all Butterfly blades come pre sealed from factory. But, if you want to add more protection then surely you can use sealant like Joola. Just apply a very thin coat on the playing surface and let it dry completely. I have several Butterfly blades both with Limba and Koto top veneer. I haven't faced any issues so far and I just started sealing my blades to prolong the life since the water based glue gets soaked into the wood. A wood sealer prevents that and keeps the feel of the blade crisp. But less is more, please do remember that.

I don't know if they splinter but I don't think there is any way you can notice a difference in feel from a thin layer of sealant.

Besides, if you seal it before first use you will not notice any difference 😉

oh ok then ill just get the blade. if its pre-sealed then no need for sealer ig. i might consider it and ask ym coach ot seal it. just super paranoid from DHS limba outer-lpy experience

I have had limba blades without sealing without any problem. Just pull the rubber off carefully. I usually pull the rubber off starting from the handle and just slowly pull off towards the end of the blade. I have had butterfly innerforce blades and nitakku acoustic inner without no splitering.
