oh really? These blades are not very much alike at all AFAIK.

Those are probably the "early" and "late" Long V models.![]()

are they both different production date?
where are you buying from? what price? Is it better to go for the cheaper copy? or just save up a bit and buy the original
well i only can buy it through a trusted retailer on shopee, for fang bo b2x its around 54$, for hl5 its 90$ usedwhere are you buying from? what price?
is there any diff in early n late long v models? or jst front print onlyThose are probably the "early" and "late" Long V models.
Fang Bo B2X is a red handle with a different design and at least the construction is probably different because their stiffness and vibration performance is very different, B2 and B2X being much stiffer in general.
Entirely different blades for all intents and purposes AFAIK.is there any diff in early n late long v models? or jst front print only
Ah i see, thanks for this 👌Since people don't want to be upfront.
The X series have a thicker core and thinner outer plies making them faster and snappier
The B2 and HL 5 as well as their x variants are the same blade construction (maybe not the same qc) but the handle is very very different with the bo series being much slimmer and less rounded and more oval making it feel less smooth to transition fh to bh and very comfortable to sit on one side
The old Long V had the carbon fibre and kevlar fibres running only one direction each but since 2022 they have updated the blade to have both bi-directionally in the carbon lay up making the blade less flexible and snappier which makes it faster and more direct but with less throw and dwell.
Overall I would actually suggest the HL V as I find the handle nicer than the B2 and enough that I would pay extra.
I for hurricane series have owned the B2 HL3 HLV w968 golden HH2 and HK AcB and my team mate has a HL 1 but not a HL5x or B2x so cannot actually say if they're better or not
I have read that sealing make it more rigid, is that correct?Just what ever you do seal the blade. Any blade made by dhs without sealant may as well be considered single use!
If you consider 0.001% more rigid, then yeah, sure. That's about the measurable difference, usually doesn't even show up due to rounding. It increases the effective shear strength a decent bit due to various reasons but doesn't seem to do anything to the common things like bending, conical, torsion.I have read that sealing make it more rigid, is that correct?
whar does "glassy" mean?If you consider 0.001% more rigid, then yeah, sure. That's about the measurable difference, usually doesn't even show up due to rounding. People will swear it makes blades "glassy", though.
Oh alright, I won't be sealing it by myself anyways. Going to go to a shop and tell them to seal itI honestly have never not sealed one so couldn't say. But I have played with other blades sealed and unsealed and as long as you seal properly it makes little to no difference.
Yeah and don't worry about it honestly. I have used the same rubber (sriver g3) on the same blade (HL3) using three different glues (free check, copydex and bty glue sheets) and it made not a single difference and neither will a well applied thing layer of sealantOh alright, I won't be sealing it by myself anyways.
