I always struggle to understand the meaning/feeling of muted. It means less feeling ? More absorption ?
In general terms/understanding, muted means less vibration yes, so less feeling transferred to the hand :) TTGgerLab has a wonderful article on this :) its not as simple as i say it here haha

Vibration is important to see relative to the impact.
Roughly put, beginners have more use for vibration because the loud and clear feedback even on light impact helps to learn.
As you develop more power, a loud vibration can become misleading as well as tiring. Think of it as sound distortion when your volume is too high. You want to turn the volume down so you can hear the distinctive sounds well again even on high impact.

Of course this is also highly preference based.
