  1. Where to play in London?

I'm glad you had a good time at our club (luckily it wasn't too busy that evening). Hope IB66 did too. We're a small club so it was great to meet and play other forum members. P.S.: My apologies for not mentioning more explicitly the various tourist and drinking attractions in St Albans :-)
  2. Harimoto serve

Ma Lin hands down, imo. King of both ace serves and 3rd ball attacks.
  3. Ma long serve

It's not a side under serve, but a float/no-spin serve. Joshida's flick clips the net probably because he tried to flick the ball aggressively while keeping the return as low as possible and did not quite compensate for the lack of spin on the float serve.
  4. Alternative to TB Spirit

I recall Nexy Calix 2 described by reviewers as a TBS with a slower low gear. God, 10 years is a long time ... 🤣
  5. Where to play in London?

    Which club is that?
  6. My serves

    Serve half-long.
  7. Where to play in London?

Hi BRS, Here is a list of all clubs in the Central London league. Table Tennis Fight club should be within walking distance. https://www.tabletennis365.com/centrallondon/Clubs If you're not afraid of travelling just a little outside London and free on Tuesday or Wednesday evening, feel free to...
  8. Very clever business.

Tony's right. Also, considering that most players do not use sticky protective film on their rubbers when not playing, a very big factor in rubber degradation is oxidation. No need for TT equipment vendors to do anything ...
  9. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Bumblebee let during one of London Olympics matches.
  10. BH rubber advice

Possibly. My understanding of Andro's markerting blurb is that the *Grip generation of rubbers is different, not better or worse, that Rasanter or the latest Rasanter Energy Cell generation. The former is really about prioritizing control and spin generation. I've played with AHG for more than 2...
  11. BH rubber advice

Andro Hexer Powergrip would be the easiest step up from the regular AHG.
  12. Problems with dandoy.eu

Just type "site:tabletennisdaily.com dandoy" ot "site:mytabletennis.net dandoy" into google and read.
  13. Problems with dandoy.eu

It also seems to be one of the most complained about here and mytt.
  14. What is STIGA Cybershape?

Well, strictly speaking, they have a ranking - they are just not on the latest published list due to lack of participation in TTE tournaments. Just go to https://www.tabletennisengland.co.uk/compete/player-rankings-and-ratings/ and download the starter rankings (or ratings if you want to include...
  15. What is the spinniest ESN hybrid rubber for Joola Flash ball? (seamless ball)

Slow opening loops are not what they used to be since the switch to plastic balls. K2 has been my FH rubber for exactly 3 years now. Nothing I've tried - Dignics 9c, Rakza Z EH nor K3 - came even close as a worthwhile replacement. D9C felt too mushy and not tacky enough, both Rakza Z and K3 are...
  16. Help needed: How to deal with soft / no spin / minimal spin short ball

I'm pretty sure all of us here would kill for being able to consistently short push like ML and FZD in that video :-) (who, btw, are practicing normal short pushing in that clip). You should have copied the rest of that sentence from my post " .. - the ball is past the highest bounce point and...
  17. Help needed: How to deal with soft / no spin / minimal spin short ball

This, especially the tips in bold. The reason your (OP's) pushes of nospin/"floaty" balls pop up is that you're late to get to them - the ball is past the highest bounce point and you're getting under it, probably with too big a motion. Try to get as close as possible to the ball, lean forward...
  18. How to deal with Osgood Schlatter?

Ouch, not good. I was diagnozed with this when I was 12 years old. Spent two weeks in a hospital with my knees in a cast, then had stop any physical activity like sports (including quitting TT training) or running, jumping for a year. Go see a doctor.
  19. More Fake Viscarias on ebay UK....
