  1. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

I see, like the reverse of what FZD has done over roughly the same time period. I hope it works out for her.
  2. Table tennis robots. Share your expierience

True, but the OP says it is a coach lookng for a robot to use with students. Sounds like a group of students, or why couldn't the coach feed only one guy himself? Teach the students to train each other instead of buying a robot. Best coaching you could give to start off.
  3. Adam Bobrow vs Lin Gaoyuan...

It would actually be disrespectful of AB to play this seriously like he thought he could get more than two points (one net and one edge maybe) off LGY in a serious game. Goofing around strikes me as more respectful of the totally unbridgeable 200 levels of difference between them.
  4. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

This is a little bit like saying if Hayata finds the Holy Grail. All out intensity and fewer errrors happens sometimes for a game, rarely for a whole match. SYS, LSW, and Ito have all done it in memorable matches. But it's not really a good career plan.
  5. Table tennis robots. Share your expierience

Don't. The only reason for a robot is so one player can train alone. If you have two or more people feed multiball or block.
  6. Serve receive fine tuning

That's what I took from it too. The point about loading for movement makes sense. I just wonder if ML standing so upright isn't bc for 95% of receives he has to reach over the table. For us bad players where 90%+ of serves are long it may not work so well.
  7. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

Let's be real. First place in Tokyo in any event but XD has always been out of the question. And if LSW/XX are healthy XD is out too. China owns international table tennis. I can kind of understand why that bothers peeps who turn even every individual event like a WT Open into a national...
  8. Same equipment for everyone, what would it be?

@zeio how does M8 with T88 both sides preclude two-wing looping? You *can* use the 388d. You don't *have* to use it.
  9. Same equipment for everyone, what would it be?

I can see we have some hopeless ejs here. Fine. I just ordered an M8 with 2xT88 from Megaspin for $28 complete. If any forum members are < 1850 usatt and visiting south Florida feel free to PM me for a showdown with you and your $300+ setup. Because equipment doesn't matter.
  10. Same equipment for everyone, what would it be?

No, it has nothing to do with what is the best eqipment. Here is my example and maybe that will do better than my crap explanation. Blade: Sanwei M8 Rubbers: Sanwei T88i OR Dawei 388 d1 Any sponge thickness and obviously you can have 2x inverted or inverted and LP. Logic is the blade is fast...
  11. Same equipment for everyone, what would it be?

In another thread gwenved made a brilliant suggestion that, since equipment doesn't matter, everyone in the world could standardize on one blade and a choice of two rubbers. Like they do in sandpaper, or hardbat, or big ball. I love the idea, and it started me thinking about how it could work...
  12. Viscaria, Boll ALC or Innerforce ALC

Maybe you missed my point. I switched from inverted to pimples out. And from five-ply ALL blade to composite at the same time. Yes, my level went down for a minute, by only about 100 points, even though I had never so much as hit with short pimples before. And two or three months later it was...
  13. Is it true that in a pushing rally, you don't have to try to add more spin?

Not only is it true, you should actively use the endless push rallies to learn to return an underspin ball with sidespin or no-spin. When you do that, if your opponent touches the bottom of the ball to push again, it will pop up. Then you can practice flat-killing short high balls. That will...
  14. Viscaria, Boll ALC or Innerforce ALC

This is so true, and it makes these never-ending threads like, will changing X make my flick 5% better? quite funny. It will make no difference. Whatever the change is. No. Difference. Table tennis is all skills. I changed from T05 to SP on my backhand and in three months was playing at the...
  15. Should I switch from Timo Boll ALC to Stiga Carbonado 190

The answer to all posts that ask "should I switch" or "should I buy" is always Yes. If you want a new blade bad enough to post the question on a forum, then Yes, you must buy one. I think that is one of baal's rules. Maybe even two of them, LOL.
  16. Transition from 5ply to Carbon blade

Ma lin soft carbon (or a donic waldner senso carbon for shakehanders) are carbon fleece blades that are slightly faster than five-ply and don't have the carbon !ping! feel to them. My personal opinion on inner carbon blades is that they feel like all wood, but have a sharp crossover point...
  17. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

    Why does zeio dislike her?
  18. What blade and rubbers do you use? Why?

    NAC/g1/moristo bc Mima Ito
  19. Placement strategy/tactics

If you are pressured by time or quality then diagonal bc hitting the table is priority #1. If the ball is easier then at the elbow to put them off-balance. Unless they are a pure fh player and will always play the elbow ball with a fh, then either parallel into their bh, or wide diagonal to...
  20. Any tips on how to stay calm for tournaments?

Don't think about the score. Think about what is actually happening. Like are you winning a lot of points a certain way? Think about how to get that shot in play more. Are you losing against a certain serve? Think about how to receive it better. Don't think about winning and losing...
