Lula they are definitely not that grippy, they are very very fast though maybe too much. maybe i should try a grippier short pimple just to see the difference? my thought would be it would be easier to open up on the longer and lower balls, first ball, then hit the next one I think maybe the...

I think you may be correct about sometimes gripping too tight though. I have been reading some stuff suggesting the spectol red are more medium pimples than short. They can be very weird and floaty at times.

To be fair Carl, my grip changes and becomes more normal on bh, my thumb rises a bit to centre of blade. It is a weird grip though. It makes my fh a lollipop grip on fh blocks.

Your description of the Yoga Carl. I think I might take up Yoga very soon.
  9. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

Lula The spectol red i dont think are that grippy, they are bouncy. They seem better on my force pro blue 7 ply but there fast as hell. A good payer I know had a mess with them and thought they were not very grippy at all. Do you not think if I sometimes play a reversed shot I should try a...
  10. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

Spectol Red topsheet I have not liked the other short pimples I have used, they seem to much like inverted for opponent to block. Victas 102, Waran and Waran II, Degu.
  11. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

How I like to play, I am a bully! If I play a defender I generally try and attack, If I am playing someone who I feel I am faster or spinnier than I generally try to attack. However when I play faster or stronger attacking players I don't like playing fast fast and getting beaten, so then I...

Carl is correct about my grip, but it is 30 years ingrained in me, it would kill me to modify my grip.

In this video from Jan 2018 I am using Palio CK531a on bh with 0.6mm sponge. Looks like I can still hit with them and probably better than I do with short pimples. LOL
  14. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

This is a video of me playing a very good young player. He is LP on bh. I am the one that looks a lot older and less fit. He is considerably higher ranked than me and I thought I had some good spells in this match. Bonus point for the first one to name the umpire!!
  15. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

Lula this time I have used short pimples since Jan 3rd 2019. In that time I have played about 130 competitive matches and practised between 150 and 180 hours. But a lot of this has been casual and not proper practice. I find it easier to play 'proper' short pimple shots on short balls, but on...
  16. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

BRS, I have tried spinpips red and blue, waran, waran II and Victas 102, of them all I liked the Spectol Red the best, I don't find it that quick myself, my main issue is is some days i have bad days and play a reversed shot too much and hit balls long, especially against float and especially...
  17. Victas VS402 Limber & V15 Limber

From my brief experience I would say 402 limber is too soft for fh, more of a bh rubber, very spinny, a little bouncy. Definitely more a bh rubber, especially if you are an advanced player, maybe ok on fh for a beginner to intermediate player.
  18. Tibhar Force Pro Blue (Why are Stiff blades better for short pimples?)

lasta, Hopefully the force pro blue should do the trick!! My fh would never cope with the black edition or a clipper Hmmmmm, but should I try carbon like Mima Ito. That would open up a new world of EJing
