Hey fellow tt players!
Its been some tough weeks for us in quarantine. In Switzerland they closed all the tt gyms, leagues are shut and tournaments canceled.
I try to pass time by watching a lot of table tennis on YouTube maybe my lazy mirror neurons will pick up something.
So here I am...
Jan Ove Waldner Footage of all Matches!
I found this amazing 4 hour film of all of Waldners big matches!
I enjoyed it very much! Thanks to Gary Ruderman for making this amazing piece of art!
Sometimes you face an opponent that has an illegal serves. What do you do about it?
In my case I tend to say nothing at first, but if he does it again and again I do tell him. Now you know how that is in clubs without a referee.... Some just don't give a **** . What do you do in those cases...
A friend of mine is going to stay in London from the 24.06. to the 21.07. She will be staying near London City and is looking for a club and people to play with.
So any of you TTD members from London interested in maybe showing her around a bit? I think she would be very happy if someone would...
Hey guys
I need new shoes for tt, as my butterfly sneakers are worn out. I wanted to buy two pairs at the same time so i can switch between them.
I am thinking of buying the Wave Drive series 5 or 7, or maybe one of each. Do you guys have experiences with those shoes? And are there any...
Hey guys
I think i might have some muscle imbalances. Often after an intense session i have back pains and need to roll over the blackroller to let some of my vertebra crack to feel relief. I think it is caused by my right trapezius muscle, which might be bigger and stronger than my left.
Do...
Inspired by a recent thread I took myself the freedom to create this thread.
So what happened? :)
My first real racket was a premade Stiga bat > something like this http://stigatabletennis.com/en/products/flexure-5-star/
It did cost about 125$... However it wasnt even that bad, soft rubbers...
I have a question concerning the use of body rotation used in the FH Loop.
How can i make proper use of turning the body while looping a backspin ball?
Looping a backspin ball requires a more vertical stroke.
Now this makes it hard to turn your body into it without leaning back. Because if you...
Until now i always thought that in though matches my ability to do short and spiny serves deteriorates because i get agitated.
However this happened a lot even in longer training sessions.
I think its because my rubber gets wet ... i can even slide the ball across the surface of my rubber...
Hey guys
What do you guys think is the most important part of the forehand topspin?
As for me it seems to change all the time. One day i think its the follow through up to the head, on another day its the back swing, then its the forearm snap and then its the right angle and kind of contact...
I started to play in december of 2014 and have been at it for about 70 weeks if we take out vacations and times where I could not play.
The minimum hours i put in a week are probably 3 and the maximum about 20.
I guess averaging at around 5-8 hours a week I get a total of 350 - 560 hours played...

Hey guys
Today i was playing around with grips. Thend suddenly one particular change made so much sense and such a good feeling to play i was amazed.
My old grip looked like this:
Gripping the blade very close to the rubber. With this grip i had problems on the forehand, as it did not feel...

So i thought id open up a thread where we can talk about our everyday tabletennis.
This goes as follows :)
Today i hit the club at 18:15 or 6:15 PM as you would call it ;). From 6:15 to 7:45 the kiddys have their training and I help coaching them, as good as i can :).
At 7:45 the grown up...
What do you do against long serves, meaning they only bounce once on your side and are mostly fast?
I have problems agaisnt those, maybe because my trainings partner almost only serves short or half short. And if i tell him he should serve long they aren't what I have problems with, if that...
