I do not know the onboarding process for new mods….i do fear that our new (volunteers) mods have been thrown in at the deep and with very little in the way of support or mentoring. That being the case unfortunately something like this blowing up was always quite likely ☹️. Is a real shame

Simon will know much more than me as an organiser of events, but I would imagine there are responsibility / liability issues that are helped if your event is an official TTE one.

Sometimes a serve with almost no spin can be more devastating than an incredibly spinny one. All of the previously mentioned rubbers can produce sufficient spin, but it is down to the skill of the server to produce sufficient deception.

I reckon that in the context of these serves both side and side top fall into the category of “whackable”, of course in real life they may be harder to receive, but I think my first instinct would be to go after most of these and reassess if it wasn’t working.
