  1. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Wouldn't an unboosted H3 suck even harder on BH though? In case there was a problem with his H3, I suspect he would've ditched it all together and played D09C both sides. Who knows, perhaps he's too bored with beating everybody that he wants to try going full 2020 LJK hulk-style, and just wants...
  2. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Strangely enough, Fan Zhendong is playing with a red rubber on FH in his latest Bundesliga match, while his black rubber seems to be the usual H3BS. I can't quite tell if the FH rubber is D09C or Z03. I wonder if he's just having fun playing with his normal racket twiddled, or is he seriously...
  3. Best Viscaria higher quality alternative

I have never personally owned a Viscaria, but Joola ZQH 90 is an excellent blade indeed. Great manufacturing quality, very crisp feeling, but also has really nice touch and is surprisingly good at generating spin given how fast it can be. My coach (a top young player in my country himself) uses...
  4. Wang Chuqin Tries Pimples For The First Time 👀

Well, I guess it's good to know that in case his career doesn't work out for some reason, he can still have a bright future as a Manika Batra "clone" for the CNT. ;)
  5. is H8-80 boosted Harder to use than Dignics 09c or easier

I used to play with H8-80 on BH, and recently pasted a sheet of D09C to try. To me, D09C is a straight-up upgrade in almost aspect (excl. price), and not necessary harder to use either. To elaborate, H8-80 has a tackier and softer topsheet, whereas 09C has much less tack but its topsheet is...
  6. DHS fans unite!

I've always had the same impression of H3N BS on BH, and would've loved to play with it on both sides if a red version existed. I have a fair amount of experience with H3N 37/38 on BH as well, and just as you said, for some reason they just don't have the nice elastic and dwelly feel on BH that...
  7. DHS fans unite!

Not any official ones that I know of. There might be a few that sell Li-Ning apparel, but it's highly unlikely that they'd risk going for the niche table tennis market here. Barely anybody plays with DHS rubbers in our table tennis scene anyway, or Chinese tacky rubbers for that matter, except...
  8. DHS fans unite!

Well, yes, of course. :) That's the standard international price, even on TableTennis11 after the 30% volume discount. I would be able to get the Prov. BS for ~$35 on AliExpress, except that I happen to be from a country with an economy hobbled by US Treasury third-party sanctions. That...
  9. DHS fans unite!

So, I've been using National H3N BS 41° for the past 1.5 years on my FH. It has completely cured my EJ when it comes to FH rubbers. Problem is, the vendors in my country sell the BS versions for absurdly high prices, almost twice as much as the OS version ($70 for Prov, which I find utterly...
  10. New Stiga Mantra Pro

I have recently put on a sheet of Mantra Pro H (Violet) on my AJH TMXi Pro, and can confirm all of your descriptions. Some background: the backhand has always been my weaker side, and I have never quite found a BH rubber that I'm fully confident in like I am with H3 on FH, especially on limba...
  11. Yinhe/Galaxy Big Dipper II ?

I haven't tried BD2, but I have played with BD4 which I highly suspect is the same product but for the non-Chinese market. The two rubbers look identical to me and share the same packaging (except for the background colour); even the description on the back side is the same. BD4 is not really a...
  12. Tired and Disappointed of Boosting Hurricane 3

This happened to me once while boosting with Seamoon. Can confirm that it ruins the topsheet grip, leading to ball slippage problems. I tried to clean the rubber afterwards with soapwater and spray cleaners, but I simply couldn't get rid of the stain.
  13. Experience with some other Loki rubbers - Arthur China, GTX Pro (inc)

As for the sponge, it was quite brittle when I used it as well. I think that's pretty normal for LAC sheets and probably not something to worry about. The topsheet, however, was decently tacky for me — slightly less than H3 perhaps, but still enough to lift the ball in the air for at least 2s...
  14. boosting .. when again

Yes, pretty much. I try to persevere and stretch it to around 2 months for the sake of not decreasing the rubber's lifespan too much, but it's an extremely difficult temptation to resist. 😄 In practice I tend to do a light reboost every ~40 days, just one thin layer though.
  15. boosting .. when again

I play ~12h/week and use normal Haifu Seamoon. In my experience, it takes around a month for the reduction in the booster's effect to become noticeable enough to make me consider reboosting. It is definitely a gradual process, but at some point the signs become too obvious to ignore: - Looping...
  16. XIOM C55 Impressions and Comparison with H3N

I've been using my sheet of National H3N BS for 5 months, and it can still hold the ball for at least 3-4 seconds. Production date is stated to be March 2023 on the packaging. It's not as sticky as my old H2, but the grip is still unmatched (I have no experience with older batches of H3 though)...
  17. Double Fish samples has arrived - what is your opinions?

Hi Tony, The Dragon Shadow 218 Spin H40 seems to be be available on TT11 for $22, the same price as Volant-Phoenix. I wonder how you would compare the two? Which one do you think plays closer to H3 BS on the FH side? I recently got to briefly try Volant-Phoenix H40, and was pretty impressed...
  18. Paris Olympic Games 2024

Well, I don't think it's a mere coincidence that more and more non-Chinese pros are gravitating towards W968, mostly FH-oriented players of course. That being said, it doesn't seem to me that Butterfly's Koto outer-ALC offerings are being displaced at the top level. Why else would the likes of...
  19. Best Chinese Alternatives to D09c Tier List

My own experience with J3 Euro (albeit the 40° version with a layer of baby oil) very much matches yours. I initially tried using it on my Donic Ovtcharov No.1 Senso (essentially the same as HL5 afaik), and lifting backspin on the BH side was an absolute nightmare with it. I rarely hit the net...
  20. Unboosted Hurricane 3

This week I've had a very similar experience, but with unboosted H2 Neo (Commercial 2.2 Mid) instead of H3 on my Yinhe Pro 01. This is my first experience with pure Chinese-style rubber, as I was quite worried in the past that it would prove too much for me, and made sure to try hybrids first...
