  1. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Just saw this yesterday. Looks a lot more like True Carbon Inner. Maybe he switched. I know a couple people switched to inner after starting to use Zyre03.
  2. Donic Bluestar A2 Test

Bluestar A2, been using it for a couple months now (twice weekly) - I think I’ve finally found the right FH rubber for my blade and style. I used the Hugo HAL (Viscaria build without the carbon, but still acrylate layer) so it is crisp at low gears but muted at higher gears. But it’s a linear...
  3. Rakza Z vs Bluestar

So RZ/RZEH is easier to use, more bouncy than Bluestar A1/A2?
  4. Short/med pips similar to a worn out Bluegrip C1 (very hard sponge)

Thanks for all the responses. In general, what characteristics does hard sponge in pips have? The only pips I’ve tried is the Moristo SP, and it is FAST
  5. Short/med pips similar to a worn out Bluegrip C1 (very hard sponge)

Hi, I'm helping a clubmate transition to pips/anti on his BH. He currently uses a very worn out Donic Bluegrip C1 (a hand-me-down from another person) and has developed a certain style around this. Basically he blocks and pushes, which slows down the pace returns it flat similar to an anti...
  6. Hunter Apex AC blade from Paddle Palace? (Outer ALC with Limba/Ayous/Koto plies)

Hi, I recently got a chance to try a club mate's blade for about 10 minutes. He was using this Apex Hunter AC blade, with Nittaku Genextion on it. First impression is that it is fast and crisp, low medium throw, nice sound/feedback. Wondering if anyone had a longer experience using this blade...
  7. Equipment for a beginner!

Have you played table tennis at all, even casually on and off before the last 2 months? (I'm assuming the past 2 months was at a table tennis club?) I used to start out with YSE + Mark V 2.0. Quickly found out it's safe, but still too slow to do the right techniques. Btw, this is when I finally...
  8. Just Butterfly Glayzer (on backhand)

Same, I felt it was low throw on BH and in general. It was harder to use on BH for more advanced techniques. But BH drives/blocks receiving opponents’s spins it’s great. Could be our playstyle, if you can keep up the thin contact/brushing, I can imagine the throw is higher.
  9. Just Butterfly Glayzer (on backhand)

    1.9 BH, 2.1 FH
  10. Just Butterfly Glayzer (on backhand)

I pretty much agree with everyone’s experience with Glayzer. But a few things I want to add. I’ve been using it on FH and BH across synthetic (no carbon) and wood blades, both 1.9 and 2.1 thickness. Most recently had it on BH on 5-ply wood blade. It is lightweight in my experience (~47 grams)...
  11. 50 degrees Hybrid comparisons (DNA hybrid H vs Bluestar A2 vs. Rising Dragon 2 vs. Golden Tango PS)

J2 is supposed to be between C and A series, which is really unique. I want to give it a try but the sponge is 52.5 degrees…
  12. 50 degrees Hybrid comparisons (DNA hybrid H vs Bluestar A2 vs. Rising Dragon 2 vs. Golden Tango PS)

Thanks for the reply. That’s interesting bc I’ve read that Rakza Z is a little slow to most people. If that’s the case, rising dragon might not be what I’m looking for.
  13. 50 degrees Hybrid comparisons (DNA hybrid H vs Bluestar A2 vs. Rising Dragon 2 vs. Golden Tango PS)

I’m looking to replace my FH rubber from G09c max on a 5-ply all wood YSE. I get really good brush loop contact, but it’s very slow and sluggish and requires too much effort (large arm movements). I wanna keep the sponge hardness around the same but more speed and liveliness while having the...
  14. What are your favourite hybrid rubbers?

What didn’t you like about them? I’m considering the DNA Hybrid H due to the 50 degrees hardness but there’s not so much reviews on them. D09c is too expensive and hard, while Rakza Z ppl say is heavy and slow.
  15. Any thoughts on Stiga DNA Pro series?

What do you guys think about DNA hybrid in H hardness?
  16. Fastarc g1 vs hybrid mk

Bumping this thread as well. I have been playing with MK hybrid on and off across multiple types of blades in the last 2 years (inner carbon, outer synthetics ZL/AL), and most recently an 5 ply all-wood (YSE). I think it could be slow on receiving passive/low speed shots, however, it can be...
  17. Butterfly Timo Boll zlf vs Xiom Hugo Calderano HAL/SAL

I own both the SAL FL in 92g and ZLF ST in 83g. It’s hard to compare since they differ so much in weight. But I enjoyed the SAL a lot more. The ZLF vibrated towards the index finger A LOT. It feels thinner, more flexible, but at the same time harder. When you hit the sweet spot, it has a clear...
