Hey Lee. Yea it has many uses, but i don't know if its the same as paint thinner. It's one of the main ingredients in nail polish remover and it dries quickly, dissolving the glue. Make sure you use gloves.

Hey Lee. Have you tried acetone cleaning solvent? Its commonly used to dissolve glue. Just be careful as it's pretty strong stuff.
