Well I didn't rip it off... I just peeled it off normally. I guess I'll try to peel it off as slow as possible next time. Or it can be that I applied Rubber cement to both the blade and the rubber.

Yeap, the glue was completely dry. If my blade is the only one splintering I guess it must be the rubber cement.
