  1. Is weight gain/muscle gain detrimental to table tennis?

kinda why i chose it ;) additional inspiration from this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EY7lYRneHc
  2. Calling all 'TALL' Players!

yeah, being tall is a problem for close to the table play and in general due to the distance that the nerve impulses have to travel. work hard on footwork and leg strength ... maybe stand a touch further back to give yourself a tiny bit more time to react. there is always the "loose as much body...
  3. Playing a local league defensive player using negative tactics

the big thing that messes a lot of people up against defensive players is the spin they put on the ball coming back at them. massive topspin plus bit of sidespin loop comes back to you as massive backspin with a bit of sidespin. what do you do? try to re-loop? you are going to have to be in...
  4. H3P tackiness

just use sweat and your hand to clean the rubber .. cheapest and best way to keep the tack during practise and matches.
  5. New league season – what’s your goal?

still recovering from serious medical issues which have prevented me from playing for around 2 years now. just being able to play without crippling pain or using lots of painkillers would be my goal.
  6. Your favorite chinese/chinese like rubber

  7. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

seriously doubt that this is a workable solution from a number of angles, basically boiling down to removal of way too much for the addition of something that is of disputable value.
  8. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

plenty of players have modifications to their blade (filing down wings on penhold, grip tape or tape to bulk up handle, edge tape/no edge tape, handle change) that would never be practically possible with this sort of rule.
  9. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

the wrc and world superbikes along with a bunch of other motorsport series use homologation as you mention, this does not do what you expect it to. take for example the vtr100sp1 that honda developed, the base bike is homologated ie the manufacturer has to make x number of them available for...
  10. Upgrade my Mark V

no idea really without more information or pictures of the equipment. needless to say that this person obviously knew how to use their equipment to generate a lot of spin ... the important thing is that technique + equipment = results but the technique part is the most important as it translates...
  11. Upgrade my Mark V

i wouldn't waste money putting good rubber on a pre-assembled blade. there are plenty of good, cheap options for both rubbers and blades that will not cost a lot. here are a few examples : - yinhe 896 blade (superb blade for the money and really good quality) : price from around 12euro - yinhe...
  12. Blade & Rubbers combinations

i've got a pg7 with h3n on forehand and yinhe moon pro on backhand ... it's a really good setup for looping, but it depends on the quality of the blade you get (mine is pretty good, others have varying experience as the quality is a bit inconsistent). never played with t05 so can't comment on it...
  13. How do you preserve tackiness in Hurricane 3?

non-sticky plastic sheets applied after cleaning the rubber with a bit of sweat once you have finished playing works for me. if you want to store for a while apply a thin coat of olive oil after cleaning and then put on the plastic cover sheets. this also restores the rubber's tack & grip.
  14. Training mentality in table tennis

i'd play 7 days a week if i could, pity i'm medically unable to atm :(
  15. Training mentality in table tennis

agreed, finding someone to train with who has roughly the same mentality towards training can be difficult. i've trained at 2 clubs and found that i prefer a structured class vs trying to convince a random person to do drills they may not know or are unwilling to do (maybe they are just a...
  16. Training mentality in table tennis

i do prefer drills to just randomly hitting the ball around. however the one thing that does come up is you do really well in these drill scenarios but can not implement it in a match or higher pressure situation. an idea that i think i saw/read about from cnt training is to play matches...
  17. Question regarding HL5 and PROTT

i've dealt with prott more then a few times, they have always been pretty good and delivery times were fast when using the faster delivery option (can't remember what it was called). if both hl5 from tt11 and prott are genuine then the only difference in total price will be the potential of...
  18. Dhs pg7

i still love my pg7/h3neo/moonpro combination ... so much blade for so little money (much like the yinhe 896, super blade that i bought for around $10 new). the only annoyance is that the sweet spot is pretty small, guess you can't have everything ;)
  19. Help on how to order table tennis equipment

you will have to check with paypal to see what sort of cards (debit, credit, prepaid credit) they accept from your country as it does vary by country/region.
  20. World Table Tennis Championships 2017

(still way ot, sorry) surely any big enough lack of glycogen can be dealt with by gluconeogenesis? practically, eating any vegetables will give you some form of carbs. i think the idea is to limit carbs according to how each individual's body reacts to them ie. keep it below a certain amount to...
