  1. I think I found my happy place!!!

I wanted to drop a post to thank everyone for their opinions and answers to my questions on rubbers, as well as suggestions. I wanted to drop a post to say I think I finally found my happy place with my set up now. After having played about with various combos of rubbers and blades, I've finally...
  2. The rubber taste and smell test...?

I don't understand what they do to the Neo to make it smell so... fishy is probably the only adjective I can think of. No other rubber seems to smell of fish LOL.
  3. The rubber taste and smell test...?

Oh this is really interesting! I didn't know all this about the whole speedglue thing. I never used speedglue when I played before. Ha, imagine everyone playing a tournament getting really high!!! Although an alternative interpretation of the warning was made aware to me by someone - simply...
  4. The rubber taste and smell test...?

Hey guys, Hope everyone is going well. I was looking at the packing of my rubbers just for fun and noticed DHS rubbers come with this warning in English, "You'd better not taste or smell the rubber products." I mean, I'm probably late to this party, but am now curious about what happens if you...
  5. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Not tried Big Dipper, but from what I have read, it appears to be the H3 Neo.
  6. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Haha. But I didn't really start this as a "should I use H3" thread. It was just my observation as to the differences I felt between the 729 Focus 3 Snipe which I had before and the Neo H3. I swapped out to the H3-50 Soft which I actually quite like... for the moment LOL.
  7. Which Butterfly blade is suitable for beginners?

Am asking out of curiosity - what was it about Butterfly that has taken you in over other brands? I've never played with Butterfly gear before. Am a sucker for the Chinese gear (being Chinese myself haha). My latest blade (Stiga) is the first time I've strayed away from Chinese gear.
  8. Which rubbers?

I just had a look at all the things you have mentioned, and the rubbers you have mentioned on your profile too... but aren't they like... well, quite expensive? If you're a beginner, I wouldn't say you needed expensive gear like the ones you are listing unless you have money to burn. You'll find...
  9. Wally Rebounder

Dang, why are none of the cool things easily available in the UK. I think I'll probably look at getting a robot though, as I'd like to have that multiball training on tap whenever I feel like it. I'd like to be able to hit to different areas, but with a Wally Rebounder thing, you really have to...
  10. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Thanks for the video, Carl. Really helpful - have actually bookmarked / saved it to review from time to time!!!
  11. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

I've just caught up with the discussions here and actually I am quite surprised that many people think that it's all arm. I don't know whether my surprise is a by-product of the fact that I've had some coaching before, but it does surprise me there are people who don't think legs or other parts...
  12. Is this competition legal?

Guess @sampletext got their answer... should be legal as voc should be long gone, but if not, then it's not enforceable anyway LOL.
  13. Is this competition legal?

LOL. I watched this video and now I get it. Basically, I get screwed over with my pants on because I follow rules. Wow... I mean, I get this is sarcastic, but when you have an unenforceable rule, it basically is that in reality, isn't it? Hahaha. Guess I'm the sucker for still wanting to stick...
  14. Is this competition legal?

I'm just wondering... But why have a rule which realistically I can't imagine them enforcing - are they going to rip the rubber off to inspect every game? Also, why have a rule which is in place that no one cares about? I'm wondering how / why did they even have this rule in the first place...
  15. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

So I am happy to report I think I have found a combination which I'm happy getting back into the game with, at least for the moment. Consistency has gone up dramatically compared to the Yinhe T11+ and Neo Hurricane 3 set up. I had a look at a few options including the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra...
  16. Soft vs Hard Rubbers

I have a Neo H3 on my Yinhe T11+ and when I first tried it, I really struggled with it, but have adapted my play style and am getting more consistent, so that is true. Just depends how much time you want to spend changing your play style completely. I quite enjoy the fact that Neo H3 is making...
  17. Soft vs Hard Rubbers

Oh my... wish I found this thread a whole lot earlier. I slapped a Neo H3 on my Yinhe T11+ and I am struggling like anything with it as well. Helpful to have some semi-flexi suggestions here. Will give some of these a look into. Was looking at the Ma Lin Extra Offensive which @Lycanthrope had...
  18. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

Hey Lycanthrope, thank you for your wise words. I don't think I'm particularly upset, just more wanting to nail this so I don't actually have to go out and buy another rubber / reglue. I hate that whole process and don't want to do it more than necessary - partly why I'm also avoiding the whole...
  19. Getting back into TT properly with the DHS Neo Hurricane 3

I had a relatively good practice session today for just a bit over an hour, but boy I'm so tired. Either the Neo H3 is really making me work for those forehand top spins, or I'm just really unfit LOL. Probably more the latter. I have found that my style of play has completely changed. When I...
  20. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Good luck for the tournament, Suds!
