Im very confused about Esn sponge specs. Looking at this photo, which rubber is thicker?

To my eye, black looks way thicker.

But on the specs, the red is 2.2mm Max G1.

Black is 2.15mm Dragon grip.

Are my eyes deceiving me? Or are esn specs false?

The red rubber has shrinked quite a bit. Keep in mind that it's a 3d object and shrinking from the factory tuning will take effect on all 3 axis. So the red rubber got squished making it smaller, and thinner. Some falco should give it a breath of fresh air, keep it alive for a bit longer.

ITTF did instructed all manufacturers to keep total thickness of rubber sheet limited to under 3.80 mm. Sponge underlayer has no limitation by thickness provided the total of sandwich combination 3.80 mm is observed.

Be happy.

Maybe the booster effect has worn out.

We had this problem recently with Rxton 9 where we were introduced to the "definition (or fantasy definition) of MAX."
Some manufacturer will for example advertise a rubber having a sponge of 2.1mm MAX but this will not stop them selling us a rubber with a sponge thickness of only 1.85mm.
