Hello all, newbie here, I want your opinion on this current setup that I have. I have been using Yinhe TIs blade for more than 10yrs with butterfly Rozena Max 2.1 rubber when it first came out. These sent up gives me numerous tournament wins. unfortunately health issues arise, I haven't played ping pong for couple of years now due to some medical issues. In present times I am starting to go back in my tournament rhythm and the first setup that I used was in my bag were a wood setup called DSH Power 6 with Friendship 729 RITC max 2.1 (not sure). Once i've used it it brings back something that I haven't felt before, back to basic strokes and full swing that I kinda missed, since my current setup, I felt likr a catapolt or no dwell time ( Yinhe TIs with butterfly Rozena max 2.1), infairness I was able adapt and learned how to adjust to my blade, but surely realized that it does lost of feeling touch on the ball into the racket. DSH Power 6 has lack of power and speed due to wood structure and the rubber. I want to keep my current blade (Yinhe TIs) because of the stiffness and sturdy of the blade and be open to diffent rubbers that It can tamed the beast of this blade. I love Yinhe blades compared to much expensive blades out there.( Yinhe T11s, T5s, T8s). I do have previous experience owning a butterfly blades like old tag Primorac Carbon (still having it) and old tag Sardius.

Should I go with lesser thicker rubber or changed to diffent rubber at all. Any suggestions or any experience that you've encounter and what changes have you done in terms of feeling. I playing style is close to table to middle distance, I play aggressive style..

Much appreciated all. Keep on Pongin!! PEACE

Hi, @Bladehunter ! You can reduce the speed and increase control by replacing one rubber on the forehand first. Try a slower rubber of a hybrid type. I recommend you try Jupiter3 (max 38, red). Despite its low price, this is a very tenacious and durable rubber that works great on fast blades. In addition, the throw angle of the J3 is higher than, for example, the Hurricane 3, so it will be easier for you after Rozena. After the sticker, you will have about two to three weeks of good play, after which the factory booster will evaporate and the speed will decrease, but the topsheet will be sticky and tenacious. This speed may be enough for you, since you have a very fast blade. If the speed is not enough, you will need a booster or oil....

If we consider non-chinese rubber, then I would recommend Glayzer 09C or Rakza Z. Both rubbers have a sticky surface and are slower than Rozena. The difference is that Glayzer 09C has a harder sponge, but is lighter in weight and probably faster. The advantages of these rubbers compared to сhinese ones are that they retain their properties better over time and do not require a booster. On the other hand, they are more expensive.

We need a Just PEACE more than ever before

Try 2.0 mm or medium-soft rubbers (e.g. Rakza 7, Vega Pro, Baracuda) on the Yinhe TIs—gives more dwell and control than Rozena max. You can also mix: softer backhand, faster forehand.
