So hi guys,
It’s pretty much my memory muscle or tendency but I think i’m waiting on my FH too much.
It’s like in the match after the serving or my long push to their backhand, I would pretty much expect the ball to come back in my FH zone to open-up kill or counter. I got coached in the past to play like this and right now it becomes like expected/readable from the outside which i don’t really like it.
In the past, when i got constant coach and training for like 2-3 hours every morning, I would make the shots effortlessly (or even extrodionary shots). But right now, I got cheesed literally by lots of half-a** shots, always got jammed by the ball and make a weaker return. I think my footwork got slower.
My backhand got trained before and if i’m in like practice situation, i will always pull it off the hard shots and consistency is high if i tell myself to play backhand in my head. But in match, things will always get back into the same habit.
Since i got slower and rusty, i think my middle and wide forehand point is weak also. If it pivot the first ball, i can’t catch up the wide forehand if they actually put the ball there lol.
Is there recommendation to fix this or any advice to make this play style more useful( like where to serve, push, what spin should i put on)? Or just try to lean in and use backhand more and stay at the middle.

once upon a time, due to undue influence by FH dominant players like Jang Woojin, Aruna Quadri et al, I too, took a liking for pivoting on the BH side and try FH boomba. Notice the word TRY. I too face the same problem as you described.

Then some wise veteran player gave me some sagely advise. Gozo, you are no spring chicken, you are a confirm / certified Asian Ojisan status, why make life difficult for yourself. Strengthen your BH, learn to open up with your BH, drill it, master it and use more BH. If you can't then push / block first and only FH boomba when the balls comes to the mid or wide FH.

That was some sagacious advise which I took and now I am a happier man.
