I don't normally post negative things but felt compelled in this case. Last year Mizuno discontinued WaveDrive 8 so I had had to go for the new Wave Drive 9. They are lighter and offer a somewhat better fit for a narrow foot but the materials are a lot cheaper. After about 5 months of usage they looks worse than my Wave Drive 8s after 2 years. The mesh is really thin and is already ripping. So is the lining. Plus, they have removed the inner elastic for tongue support. Does anyone know where I can still get WaveDrive 8 in 44?

I reckon if you have to tighten them that much then they are too wide for you. Also tightening that much is possibly putting some unintended stress on the shoe?
I have W8s also and they are are in great condition after 2 yrs of using 6+ hours a week. With a new insole I might get another 2 yrs from them.
Disappointed to hear the 9s are a step down in quality but they way everything is going it doesn't really surprise me, companies seem intent on building in obsolesence more and more.
Maybe try a shoe with a slimmer profile?
Or possibly a women's shoe in a 44 will be slimmer?
Some of the other Asian brands, Li-ning, Butterfly etc are know to be a bit of a slimmer fit.
But to answer your question I haven't seen 8s on sale anywhere, its probably too long after the 9s launched so I'd imagine they're all gone.
