So a while back I saw this video of a robot "playing" table tennis, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIuCZYXDRsY. At the time， I thought it too good to be true, but turns out it is a real product by a company called Future Mind (https://www.futuremind.com.cn). Problem is, it costs 54,800 CNY, which is about 8,600 USD.
However, I saw this new video popup on my youtube homepage, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnx8TE_Mcxs. This is their new OMNI robot, which to me looks rather comparable to the Joola Infinity Robot. And this OMNI robot's full retail price is just 3,000 CNY, which is about 470 USD. That's about the same as the KickStarter backer price of the Joola INfinity Robot, which will retail at 999 USD if I remember correctly.
As I'm currently looking into buying a new robot, this OMNI robot looks very tempting. But the only place I can find any info on purchasing is TaoBao https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?id=655691294046&spm=a21wu.11804641.1.1 (Tmall is TaoBao's B-to-C site), and they don't ship to the U.S. Trying to communicate with them to see what other options they have.
