Tenergy 19 vs Baracuda

Hi TTD,

Since coming back to TT a couple of years ago, I have played 99% of the time with either h3neo, skyline tg3 or Jupiter Asia 3.
Yesterday I slapped on a sheet of Donic Baracuda, and the difference in play is simply amazing.
I felt like I couldn't miss with the Baracuda on.
So, I am looking for a baracuda type rubber but more spin if possible since I felt my serves had a lot less spin.
Should I buy another sheet of baracuda or go for tenergy 19.

I am currently using viscaria (penhold), skyline tg3 and no BH rubber (tpb baby!).

Baracuda's marketing tag line has always been the rubber with vicious spin. Other than T05, the gold standard for grippy spinny rubber, there isn't anything out there...

You get the most spinny serve with the tacky Chinese rubbers.

My EJ came up and just purchased the tenergy 19 lol. Hope I can control it

Playing Tenergy 19 or Barracuda will be a lot different than playing with Chinese rubbers. However if you feel like you cannot miss with Tenergy 19 or Barracuda, then why not go for it? There are always trade off's and you have to decide if it is worthwhile for you.

With Tenergy 19 or Barracuda, you don't have to work as hard to get the ball over. There is that margin of safety. They are easier to use. But no way on serves, you can get it as spinny as Chinese rubbers. Plus the short game is not as good.

When I EJ, I always try to play with a couple set up's in practice matches and use that to guide me what equipment works the best for me at the moment.

you can try BlueGrip S1, should be quite similar, sponge is a bit harder at 47.5° but plays very nicely ... had it on my previous blade for a while on backhand (could be easily used as forehand with no problem, too).
