Somebody let me try his racket setup today, which was Tibhar MXP Evolution and Tenergy05 on Hurricane Long. Im not sure if its mostly the rubber or the blade, but I was surprised by how much faster his MXP was than my rather generic Chinese blade/rubber setup. And was surprised the Tenergy was a little faster than the MXP.

Now, it should be said My racket cost me about $25 (Sword blade, Reactor and Loki rubbers) and his was probably closer to $250.

But it was pretty fun to play with his racket and it was really fast. Do you think it was mostly the rubber or the blade doing the speed?

Both, I’m using a slow rubber for my Primorac Carbon, Rakza 7 Soft.
A medium fast rubber for my innnerforce ALC.S, Rakza 7.
And a fast rubber for my Stiga allround evolution, MXS.
They all have comparable speed but the innerforce has the most gears.

Cheers

T05 is a fast attacking rubber + HL5 which is rated OFF++ = extremely fast set up. You sure you can handle it in match situation? It is one thing if you are goofing around, but totally different thing if you are playing it for real in a game environment.

I recalled you said in another thread you have difficulty handling a OFF+ blade ( type not specified by you ).

Or just get a very cheap fast blade like DHS Power G5 / G5x, which is said to be quite similar to Long 5 but much lower quality. Play with it for a month or so. And then move on (or move back 😎 ).

Truth is that you have to make mistakes for yourself.

That was my strategy in the first year.

My PG5 has frequency 1292, it is not very fast. Nothing special, for the price it's OK.

It's as you say. I'm cured of cheap blades now.
