Tensor vs Hybrid rubbers

As others mentioned, the main benefit of hybrids is more gears, you can play slow on the short and passive play, and go fast when you want to, instead of going fast already from the beginning.

Like a car really, fast tensors start on gear 3 and go to 6, linear hybrids start at 1 and go to 5-6.

There are more details and nuances ofc but that's the essence of it, that's why many players are moving towards hybrids, it just gives more options, which is good for different situations :)

PS. Within hybrids there are many subtypes, chinese hybrids with more or less liveliness that try to imitate boosted hurricanes (like 8-80 or Battle 2), pure hybrids (the middle ground, D09c, Rakza Z) and tensor hybrids (a bit more linearity than a tensor, NUZN for example). Also there are generations of hybrids, like how bluegrip S2 is different to J3 nowadays
Would you say Rasanter C series and Genextion is in the middle ground or tensor hybrids? They have more stickiness than something like Gewo Codexx or Donic Bluegrip, but less sticky than Dignics 09c, Rakza Z

Hi everyone! I’d like to know what the main differences are between Tensor and Hybrid rubbers, and why most professional players use Hybrid rubbers.

I’d also like to hear your opinions regarding intermediate players: is the speed and catapult effect of Tensor rubbers better for them, or the greater grip and contact time of Hybrid rubbers?

Thank you!
Tensor can be hybrid but hybrid doesn't necessary mean Tensor.

Haven't tried them yet but have them at home, so I can tell you soon :) Gut feeling says that Rasanter C will be a between tensor hybrid/pure hybrid and Genextion from what I read, a bit more towards pure hybrid but dont know yet, looking forward to being surprised :)

Btw, publishing now an overall hybrid rubber article to explain the different types and why hybrids are so popular nowadays :)
