Transition from DHS to ESN rubber (xiom omega 8 hybrid or vega tour?!)

Hi all! Apologies, this is a very convoluted question and my first post…

My question is, does the xiom omega 8 hybrid play as well as the xiom vega tour for direct hitting?!

I have my eye on xiom omega 8 hybrid because I’m looking for a low throwing rubber that plays really well close to the table and has a good bit of power and bite. Too good to be true possibly…

The other day I lost badly to a tennis player (who is actually a pro golfer). He has insane blocking and hitting ability and it made me realise that my high throwing control racquet (I’ve been using to get back into table tennis and works well for spin and safety margin) is not good enough when it comes to playing matches against good athletic players who can just hit through your high margin topspin mid distance loops.

My current setup is a Yasaka Sweden extra with Dhs hurricane 8-80 on backhand and skyline 3-60 hard (now discontinued). These rubbers have wonderful control and net clearance /margin, but they don’t have enough power or spin to do real damage except at close ish mid distance.

Furthermore, the 8-80 I just ordered for my friend weighed a whole 10 grams heavier than my sheet of 8-80, which I personally find unacceptable because I worked really hard to choose the rubbers according to weights etc and now my friend is annoyed I made him a heavy bat (195g).

My other experimental setup is a Stiga rosewood xo with skyline 3 provincial blue sponge and hurricane 8 hard. I really like this setup a lot because it has exceptional hitting ability than the previous setup.

One thing I’m missing though is the catapult or power I got from my old stiga offensive classic carbon which had h2 Neo and Stiga Calibra tour s on backhand (a great setup indeed) but too fast for my level.

So recently I ordered a Stiga clipper wood and am looking towards putting some low throw esn rubbers on it. I have my eye on the xiom omega 8 hybrid which is on sale. I hear it plays like the Dhs hurricane 2/3 rubbers with a bit of booster effect. At least that’s how someone on here called yogi described the xiom vega tour… And from what I’ve read the omega hybrid plays with similar characteristics.

I also really want to try the omega 8 hybrid because last week I hit with my friends setup which had a Donic Acuda blue p1 turbo… and I absolutely loved it. I am guessing the omega 8 hybrid is like the newest iteration of that particular donic rubber (because they are both made by ESN, have the open large pores in the sponge, thin top sheet and thick pimples etc, lightweight etc)?

Thanks!
