I have played with an yinhe n9 for close to four years. Although it's not really a looping blade, I could transition from a flat smashing style to a more looping one over the years with it.
I had bought a Fang Bo All wood (7 ply) before to play a more spinnier game, but found it to have vibrations that I didn't like. It was also too much of a 'deep hold blade" . (I know that's quite a good thing for spin, yet a very deep hold blade doesn't suit my style!) I sold that, and returned back to my old n9.
For those who doesn't about the N9, it's a thick five ply (6.8mm+) , with limba outer, and doesn't vibrate much. Mine is 85+ gm. Sometimes feel quite dull, although I got used to it. It's also very cheap, but it plays quite good!
I would like a similar blade, but a bit more lively, and with a bit more feeling, and with a bigger sweet spot! To give you an idea what I don't like, I tried the timo boll ALC, didn't like the sound, and also its 'deep hold' qualities.
I would like a blade that feels woody, even if there's some carbon in it. Don't want butterfly blades, they are overly expensive! I was looking at some hinoki outerply blades-- Nitakku Septear, and Andro Treiber FO. But don't let that affect your judgement about what I like, I have never played with Hinoki outer blades. I was also thinking about Stiga Clipper! I also don't think I want to buy cheap chinese blades-- the N9 has served its purpose, I want something better now!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
