Your backhand sucks? It's ok brother, don't cry! We're in this together for the long run....

Instead of really trying to whip around the ball on the backhand, you can try more on active blocks, shoto, chop block and smaller drives, with the need of less power but to step around to get the forehand in the game.

This has been very helpful to improve my backhand, now I need to improve my forehand and rpb.

As the big captions suggests, the sooner the lower the better. It gives you more time to go around to the forehand. Plus, as you can see, some of the shoto are very fast, possibly giving you a better chance pushing the into more defensive mode already before you even go to forehand.
The problem with this is that it's only applicable for Jpen, since they have basically 0 backhand. I do not suggest doing this unless you are a beginner, because of the meta :/

I do find a harder more linear lower throw ( more gear ) rubber gives a very low trajectory and that dips down immediately after landing on the table, almost skidding off the table.

Q1. Does a hard hybrid rubber make it easy to deliver such stroke?
Q2. Does a traditional chinese tacky rubber make it easy to deliver such stroke?
Q3. Does a softer semi hybrid / tacky rubber make it easier to deliver such a stroke?

p/s I am used to using high throw loopy rubber for my BH all these while ( e.g. Tenergy 05 type ). So I am exploring some alternative to enhance my game.
Chinese for sure, the spin makes that dip effect.

However, what's more important is technique! Work on that then any rubber will dip down (yes, even cardboard Inverted and legos for short pips)

I believe my main backhand issues is having initiative to attack, backhand drive, to step over to let the forehand finish the rest. I'm usually too scared with the risks of backhand drive, with the absurdly large follow through which I cant really help, even after following Ryu's tutorials. It's a bit unreliable too, may not even pass the net.
Simple: RSM plays ONE sided Jpen, you play with 2. Don't study RSM's backhand tips because you have RPB! Go more for Wang Hao, Dang Qiu, and Felix for those!
