Here's my new blog post on the topic of playing stronger opponents.

I felt the need to write this after my team suffered a 10-0 loss last week.

Ouch!

In truth, none of the matches were close, apart from the doubles, when we were already losing the tie 9-0.

This thrashing was a good reminder that no matter how good you think you’re getting at table tennis, there’s always better players who can make you feel like a beginner.

In this blog post I give my thoughts on how to bounce back from these defeats and embrace the challenge of playing stronger opponents.

Let me know your thoughts. How do you respond to heavy defeats? And do you have experiences of finally beating a player who once seemed so much better?

Just remember what Vitas said

This is what Vitas Gerulaitis said after defeating Jimmy Connors at the January 1980 Masters. Gerulaitis had lost their previous 16 matches.

"And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Vitas Gerulaitis 17 times in a row."
