Song Hongyuan of 17 was not picked for the China boys team final however he showed his class in the individual event at Slovak Republic’s capital city of Bratislava. Song won the Junior Boys Singles championships in a thriller final beating Lin Gaoyuan 11-8, 11-6, 6-11, 10-12, 11-7, 11-8.
