Hi Slimjimmi, I went to your channel and realised that you are that guy with crazy incredible backhand

I am feeling overwhelmed with your response. I do believe that serve is one of the areas which anyone should work on as the point begins with the first ball of the rally.

I really liked your video, to me your serves aren't that high. Most of them had good placements. Overall, the serve motion was quite professional and sleek. Did you consider adding up a fake follow through motion in the repertoire

I really loved the long serve which landed up at the other edge of the tabel. Man, it should be really hard to return those.

What about the last serve, it was very fast. How did you do it?

I am trying to record some videos for as a part of learning the art of production. Your camera quality is superior. What camera and video editor are you using for youtube uploads.

BTW, I was playing for a while in kreis liga and vierte liga. What about you, eagerly waiting for your response

Hi Suga, Thanks for inviting me into the community and also for the valuable feedback.

I went back into the garage thinking about how to loosen my wrist and decrease the height of the serve. I will make a follow up video hopefully with some improvements based on your recommendations:D.

Yes, It is a fire escape window. I am living in Hamburg, Germany and as you know everything in a German apartment is meant for a purpose and utility:eek:

BTW, How to like a post in a thread? couldn't find any like icon in the interface.

How

Hey Siva, good to know. Hamburg is nice. Maybe we can link up and hit some balls whenever i'm in the area.
I stay not far from Frankfurt. So whenever you're around you can pm me for shooting some balls.

I think you need a certain amount of posts to be able to 'like' posts.

There are some nice vids of Brett Clarke teaching how to serve like a boss on this forum.
This guy is really good, especially in deceiving opponents and also i like his sense of humour.
He shows this whipping like motion of the wrist real good. Hard to describe, easier understandable when you see it.

Maybe this thread here can be helpful:

yes, i am that amateur guy :)

serves are very important but for me it was always boring to pratice serves... stay there and serve and do it again and again... i wanted to play and play balls, if it is possible then even play crazy physically unimaginable shots :D thats really fun. (for example here in my fb-post yesterday is a crazy shot around the net, i am really proud of that shot but was not out of real gameplay, as you can see here at the beginning: https://www.facebook.com/marc.schinkel/videos/1199466236749432/?l=4281074337371602266 )

adding a fake motion makes my serves too long, i have to practice this eventually. you mean at backspin serve for example, didn´t you?

the last fast serve is copied from that guy who did it nearly with speed of light :D look at this here: https://www.facebook.com/ping.pong.tennis2table/videos/10151924143317420/?pnref=story

so fast.... but it is possible :D

my camera is a sony HDR-CX240E, look at this here: http://preisvergleich.check24.de/hd-camcorder/sony-hdr-cx240e1.html

the option to record videos with 50fps is cool because the motions are much smoother in slow motion, matrix style :D

video editior is the normal windows movie maker... some other programs are too expensive for me, may be in future i can buy a better program. but for beginners the movie maker is sufficient.

you played kreisliga and vierte liga? i know kreisliga but what is vierte liga? do you mean oberliga?

i play now in verbandsoberliga berlin/brandenburg. but till today it was not a good season for me :(

Hi slim,

That was an awesome trick shot. It deserves a lot of credit to pull it up during a match.

Thanks for the info regarding the equipments. I am just recording the videos with my smartphone -one plus one. But, I think in the long run, I should switch to a camcorder. I find 50 fps videos really cool especially janus 770 uploads such videos in youtube.

I am actually quite the opposite what you like to do. I can keep serving hours and hours with different kinds of service motions and follow ups. That interests me a lot.

I played in Bahrenfeld verein for a while in the kreisliga. But, once I got the opportunity to play in the fourth divisiona and my results were poor. Through your FB profile, I came to know you are from Hamburg. That's cool.

In the past few days, I learned to use VSDC editor, Which I found was better than windows movie maker. It is completely free and you can download from this link

http://www.videosoftdev.com/de/free-video-editor/download

However, a word of caution: It is time consuming in the beginning to get used to it. But, in the long run it should be quiet good.

I have been to Berlin only once. It was a nice city and I wish you for better season in the coming year.

BTW, do you use a tripod for recording, Can you suggest me one?

Hey Siva,
I will try the other video editor, looks like it could be fun to work with it and you use it as complimentary software to moviemaker. thanks for that advice!

And no I am not from Hamburg, I actually live in Eberswalde, near Berlin. May be you thought this because of the DESY research institute I am working at. There are two DESYs in Germany, one in Hamburg and one in Zeuthen, in south of Berlin :)
Here is a picture of the research team with me wearing Slow-Motion-Hoodie, perfect for fast particle acceleration :D

PITZ_Gruppe_2015_small.jpg

more informations here: http://pitz.desy.de/

And yes, I am using a tripod, but it´s nothing special. I think price was about 100€. But at playoff against Hertha BSC a fat mat crashed on my camera and the tripod is now damaged, but I am still using it ...

Your hoodie suits the scene very well

I am sorry for your tripod, the videos are quite good, So I don't think you should change your tripod at this moment :)

good service too slim, very regular.

I guess you play in Germany with plastic balls ? Sorry, I don't like this sound, it seems to my ears like a stone ...

(in France, we always play with celluloid balls)

Thanks violoniste :)

There (and in my league) I play with celluloid balls. They are much better, IMHO. In the serve video that were trainings balls but also celluloid, may be the little trainings hall I played at is responsible for that sound.
