I had been using for a long time zjk alc.
Even when I changed it was to something very similar like fake superzlc, real michael maze, and stuff like that.
Until now......

hinoki shake speedy is my new official blade.

It's a flexy soft feel 5 ply wood blade.
Yesterday played with it and felt ok.

What do you think?

Hahaha. That's pretty funny.

kukamonga: any photos of your new weapon?

How do you like it? What are your thoughts on how it plays? Can you sit in a chair and just do wrist loops?

it's a big change from alc but I like it and I think I can get used to it.
sometimes it feels as if you were playing with cardboard, but when you loop it gets good speed.
it has a bit of exotic composition, not the typical limba or koto outer ply with spruce and ayous.
I don't know, feels different.

I still find players who can beat me and are still using slowish 5 ply blades so I thought "what excuse do I have to use something faster?"
for example the coach and best player where I go now I think uses tibhar samsonov alpha....

It sounds strange but somtimes you have to go slower with more control to beat the better players.Ive had a guy in my sights for a while and he laughs when he plays me as i keep pulling out different blades to find the magic bullet.i beat him recently with a very cheap bat.the control was amazing and chops kept low.he is very aggressive and i cant handle his power but with that bat and rubbers things worked for me.i had nice controlled power and could block solidly with the rubbers.ive about 18 blades and have tried all sorts of pips and fast rubbers etc.best of luck with the blade and get that coach in your sights.his blade is for control i think.

actually in the club they talk to me about position and technique and tell me about playing in the team and all super serious....
and then I go show up with a different blade every day lol.
can't help it.

EJ away.

Hinoki is an interesting wood. If it is a thin ply of Hinoki with other wood under, it can feel pretty weird on flat contact. But it grabs the ball well and is excellent for looping. Like cardboard is a good description.

it's not so thin, same thickness like primorac carbon or gergely.
the fact that it feels pretty weird is maybe the best characteristic.
if it was a typical 5 ply like avalox p500 it would be just boring.

You misunderstood what I meant by thin. The blade itself is not thin. But only the top ply is Hinoki. That top ply is at most 1/5 of the thickness of the blade. When there is a thin ply of Hinoki and it is on top of another wood, it can have a feeling like cardboard when you hit instead of spinning.

But when you spin Hinoki has a real ability to grab the ball and it can feel really nice when you spin.

no actually you misunderstood what I said lol.
I said that the hinoki outer layer is not so thin.
It's as thin as the outer layer of primorac carbon more or less.
butterfly has some blades with thin outer hinoki ply like all hinoki vii and jonyer, but not this one.

as for speed, it's not really fast when playing passive strokes but when looping it's ok.
