China's absence at w world cup

So seeing as noone has asked this it might be common knowledge but how come China hasn't put up any female players for the world cup?

Perhaps politics had something to do with it? Like with the fiasco at the last summit with the potus? Or perhaps the players are scared of a sustained injury and ending up like Zhang Jike? Or maybe they want to spread a little table tennis love and let someone else win one for a change? I don't know, just speculating.

99% when CNT pulls out a player injured, they are not injured.

In this case, the "injured" players are on holiday

In an olympic year, they only have 1 goal
and that goal is achieved
anything else in that year is not important - so you can see based on the whole years participation

What I don't understand is why number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 etc couldn't get a shot in making the WC

I guess that if China sends player to the competition they must win that, so maybe they didn't want to risk sending players and not getting 1st place
