Looking to get All+ to Off- CPenhold Blade

Galaxy/Yinhe W6 is supposedly clone of Yasaka Extra.

Avalox used to be one of the popular brands. Their P500 and P700 were/are the most popular.

Yes indeed for the P500 and P700.

As for the W6, it's said to be a touch faster than the YE. Haven't played both at the same time, but I've read it quite often.

Yasaka Extra, Sweden Extra, and W6 are all designed for what I want to do, and are no doubt fantastic, but I really want as light as possible, and they're all in the 85 range. I'm really looking at 80-, so I keep researching, but I can't find anything that fits the bill except HH1, Stiga OC, Fuga, and Blue Thunder 550. I'm leaning towards the BT550 atm.

Hi!
W6 was not a cpen favorite of mine.
If your looking for a slower blade, sure, that might be it. To me, its a fair allround blade, not near off-

Im trying out the stratus power wood.. if youd be ok with a st-handle, in my book its a way better blade. (Don't think they make it in cpen)..

I find it has lots of gears. Enough speed if I put my back in to it and still really good control.
Not near the old banda in terms of speed but more spin and better control.
Vibration could be an issue. You feel the ball well with the stratus..

Found another gem! Avalox Blue Thunder 550. looks perfect!! can anyone vouch for Avalox?

I've mentioned this before, I've only started playing again for a little over a year after a 30+ yrs absence from TT. Ages ago, I used a DHS "08" 7 ply blade, loved it. Handle broke a few months ago, and I started using my backup blade, Avalox P700 (7 ply). It took me a while to get used to it, first because of the time off from the game, and second, it was my backup blade, so i had to get used to it.

I've not played with much of the newer blades, and I never got to the point of being able to describe in detail what blade is good for this and what blade is good for that. Never got the skill/experience to 'feel' how the wood and/or carbon affected my play, etc.

My only negative criticism on the P700 (not sure if P500 is the same or not) is that the handle is TOO THICK AND CHUNKY for my preference and style of play (close to the table oldschool 1-sided usage for block/punch/FH smash/and some loops) ... it may have been a mental issue or not, but the chunky handle hindered my switching the blade from one wing to the opposite wing. It felt great for close to the table smashing. Close enough to the table looping was ok for me.

Overall it was a good blade, but the handle hampered my style. It's been relegated to my backup blade again now that I'm primarily using Nexy's Amazon CPen which seemed to be tailor-made for my close-to-the-table game. YMMV if you use the Avalox P700.

Hope my post helped in some way.

Yeah I saw that blade. It looks really quite unique and amazing. Heavy for what I want atm, and no Cpen is a definite no no for me as the extended head is too useful for rpb. Also, it's a badge of honour playing a cpen blade, you want everyone to know :p. however, the stratus power wood has one of the sickest handles i have ever seen. And that does factor in a bit. I don't want to pull out my racket and say, 'well at least you play amazing, because you look shitty.' Superficial I know, but I'm trying to be hardcore about the psychology of my table tennis: I have to truly love my blade and my setup and anthropomorphise it as much as possible. I have always named my blades and written in on the back. This way when I'm frustrated, I can talk to my racket, as opposed to myself, hopefully deflecting the negative emotions that I have for myself in a match or high anxiety situation. Probably over thinking, but I like experimenting.
