Will mx-s have more control in terms of blocking on backhand as compared to R53 or are they similar?
Playing it for a little over 2 months now. I'm not feeling (and not seeing) degradation/wear.

I'm not a high level player, but seem to be able to cope with the power envelope of R53 just fine.

MX-S works well for me too, and so does Gold Arc 8 (at 50º a bit more so than at 47.5º). Then again, so does Fast Arc-G1 at my FH.

For me, it's in the balance. I need some confidence in the short game (and serve receives), want consistency and a bit of pressure when opening up, and like power and reliability when counterspinning. These rubbers have that, but not all do — for me, anyway. When using soft rubbers, I start losing confidence in serve receives and have a hard time keeping the pressure on when forced a bit away from the table. Better players than me no doubt will do much better; I don't have Timo's touch and can only dreaming of doing what he does in serve receiving, touchwise.

To me, quite similar in blocking. R53 is a bit faster and maybe a bit more forgiving in active blocks against very heavy incoming, whereas MX-S does a bit better in passive blocks.

Thanks a lot and one more thing does mx-s feel softer than R53?

That’s interesting considering the hardness of mx-s is just 47.5-48

I have bought my 2nd sheet of R53 as I love it so much.

The topsheet of R53 is soft and grippy. It gives you a false feel of softness until you start counterlooping.

The geometry of the pimples allow a very clear feedback despite the hardness of the sponge.

It’s worth mentioning that the T05 feels decidedly different to both the D05 and D80. The sponge is different, the rubber is less linear and for me personally a lot more difficult to play short-short with vs the Dignics.

This is a good point. The 64-80-05 convention just allows you to judge playing properties within a specific range of rubbers (so comparing Dignics to other Dignics). Comparing them to Tenergy just means we're back to the "this one is closest overall to" type of vague handwaving, which I know everyone loves but you can't read too much into it.

Is there any difference between red and black R53? I don’t know why to me it seems like red one is a little softer and faster

Is black more grippier ?
Playing it for a little over 2 months now. I'm not feeling (and not seeing) degradation/wear.

Today I glued a slab of black R53 max on a blade that already had a red sheet of same.

Hit a few balls with it, twiddled, and doubt very much if I could tell them apart in a blind test.

Butterfly say that dignics 05 has unique feeling of holding the ball. Is the dwell time of dignics 05 a lot more than R53?
