Longevity of Hybrid rubbers

So I've played with Hybrids for over a year and tried many different ones. I've used Dragon Grip, Rakza Z, K3, Victas V>22, Blue Grip, Blue Star, Xiom Guang and Ying. I play an average of 9-10 hours a week training as well as games. It seems to me that hybrids don't last as long as non-hybrids that I've used in the past. They normally don't go beyond 2 months some quicker and some slightly longer but for the most part around the same time. The ones that are not as tacky seem to last slightly longer. The Xiom that are not as tacky seem to last slightly longer. However the tacky ones especially Dragongrip drops off as soon as the tack wears. Out of the tacky rubbers I think the K3 last slightly longer.

My question is: Is longevity just one of the downside characteristic of hybrids since it relies on tackiness for grip and not mechanical?

two months of 9-10 hours per week is 80-100 hours, sounds normal to me. No rubbers will play like new after that long (let me know if there is one!), it depends on how sensitive you are to the change in rubbers.
I let you know - Jupiter 2 obviously works longer, I think that Jupiter 3 also, since the topsheet looks the same. But to be honest, it's not a hybrid in its purest form, it's closer to a hurricane, which is also incredibly durable.

But that's just the topsheet, whatever factory boosting in the sponge must have all evaporated. My Jupiter 3 still play very nicely for me, but all my opponents can tell it's slower than before.

Weeelll. Before COVID I used to wear Jupiter 2 sheets in 100hrs. I mean I wore in a hole in the top sheet (between center and top of the racket). If memory serves right Jupiter 2 I had (I dunno, I killed like 3 sheets), had laminated topsheet. Once you wear through the top layer it sucks. I will look for photos, If I manage to find one, I will post it here.

But when I used to play non-hybrid rubbers they used to last longer than that. I think the tackiness in hybrids are the weak link and wears out first.

Often visiting candy shops may drive you mad. 1690 rubbers to select from, insane job anyway. Old friend worth of two newcomers.

I am not sure about the longevity of the hybrid rubbers. I have tried Tibhar K1 and K2 but I have ditched them go to back to H3 neo and Sanwei Target National.

My recent pet project is to peel off the old H3 neo's (looks really beat up) off of my Tibhar Stratus Power Wood, boost them and put them on different blades to see if I like other blades more. I just played with Donic Persson Powerplay yesterday with the old H3 neo and I really liked the feel. The old boosted H3 neo loses a bit of the tackiness (but is still very tacky) and when I boost it the second time (with two layers of booster), it is back to being quite springy, almost hybrid like.

Lol, so old used H3 neo, reboosted, might be a good alternative to these hybrids.

I will keep my K1 and K2 but I have no desire to try other hybrids such as Rakza Z, etc. anymore.

Great thread. I also think about hybrid rubbẻrs and i am finding one to play with jun zlc

despite I like the Dragon grip very much, its longevity is a bother to me, only 2 months then the tack wears off. Now I switched back to 729 Battle 2 National which usually lasts 5-6 months
I tried Dragon Grip and thought it was a good rubber but didn't last very long !!! And with how much a sheet costs these days!!! No good to me !!!!

Not sure about durability of other hybrids, but Dignics 09c, and Sieger pk50 is really good in terms of durability. And I’m doing about 18-20 hours of play per week. 09c on an amateur level can be used for 5-6 months easily, probably even more if we are talking for the most amateurs players.
Tack of 09c is barely noticeable just out of the box, and fading away pretty fast but it almost didn’t affect it characteristics, but Sieger pk50 is keeping it tack for 5-6 months and can hold a ball with it for a second
