Lol, whats the point of a small headsized cybershape?

You couldve just bought this on aliexpress
I agree. Don't make a small headized cybershape! The whole point of cybershape is that it extends the sweet spot/playing surface by 11%. But cutting into a round shaped paddle, you are cutting out the playing surface significantly!

An diminishing the actual sweet spot...
A fun little project though, but maybe a shame to waste a good blade...

Cheers

First of all, to be honest, the biggest reason to do this is just for fun, not to improve the performance of the blade. We've played around with plain blades so much, let's do something fun.

Second, I've played with stiga's cybershape6 and I think it's too soft for me. And I have a timo boll alc on the second hand market for a low price (about 80 euros) and it had a lot of bumps on the edges, so I tried to make a special blade out of it.

Finally, about the performance of "cyberboll alc":Overall, it's stiffer and faster. The balance is still actually acceptable. And because the weight is reduced, it can swing faster. But the sweet spot has moved to handle and I need to adapt to this.

Nice! Do you use regular H3 on both sides?

I wonder how the balance will be now, since the head is now smaller

the Stiga CS aimed for a different balance by having larger head
wonder if you are able to do comparisons between the standard and cs version

Hello

I have made a few cybershapes as well.
But i took def blades with a large head so you can apply the real cybershape dimensions.
Problem is most of the def blades have too much flex. Stiffest one was the joola chen weixing, its cheap by the way so the experiment is even more fun^^.

The Victas KM Special should be an option too, but this is very expensive.

Now i have a diode v in my collection and i am thinking about making a Cybershape again...

Shake hands!
Like you, I also made other cybershape blades.
Like this Yasaka Athlete Power blade. It used to be a custom made defensive blade.Head size up to 167×155 mm.Only in this way can get as close as possible the same size with cybershape. But it's still slightly smaller than the actual cybershape size.
The tool used to modify timo boll alc is an angle grinder.Excess wood was ground up.Yasaka is cut with a saw.So there are still some scraps left over.

You raise an interesting question.
In fact, I think the balance of this blade is acceptable after the head becomes smaller.
Because there is a high probability that the handle of this blade is hollow.
Is this a surprise?😄😄😄

Using the H3 on this blade is a bit difficult. So I used the YINHE Big Dipper which is easier to control.Backhand is JOOLA's x-plode.
Here are some pictures comparing with STIGA Cybershape.
