Results aside, he just doesn't have a good bedside manner on the bench from a public relations standpoint. That I think hurts him more than the results.
Latest example. MLin left WYD behind and both declined mixed zone interviews, which is fine for WYD but MLin? Huang Haicheng left SYS behind at least once, after 2-4 CIC at German Open 2018, and many think that is one of the reasons he eventually left the CNT.

Parting with Xiao Zhan was understandable (training intensity too high), but I don't get why WMY chose MLin, who has CM and WYD under his wing already. SYS is working nicely with Qiu Yike.

She probably wanted to have a better chance to influence her future. Maybe she looked at the competition and saw no reason she couldn't be hiw favorite and best player. And he is the head coach of the women's team.

Hayata and Hirano is two polar opposite, Hayata has higher stability but lower peak form while Hirano has lower stability but higher peak form.
Hirano actually remained unbeaten against non-CNT players and non-teammates longer than Hayata and Ito. Hirano started losing only in 2023 when she had to raise her world ranking while keeping up with the selection trials and T. League season, which proved very difficult and something Hayata experienced in the Tokyo 2020 cycle where she traveled all over the world to take part in Challenge Series to make up for poor seeding in World Tour.

Losses vs non-CNT players and non-teammates for Paris 2024 cycle:
Kihara: 1
WTT CT Lima 2023 | SF | Kihara 2-3 Szocs (Kihara had the lead and game point in G4)

Ito: 2
WTT CS Macao 2023 | R16 | 1-3 CIC
Singapore Smash 2022 | R16 | 1-3 Yuan Jia Nan

Hayata: 3
Singapore Smash 2023 | R32 | 2-3 S. Sawettabut
WTT SCT Goa 2023 | R32 | 1-3 CIC
Asian Cup 2022 | 3rd-4th | 2-4 Batra

Hirano: 4 + 1 forfeit due to leg cramp
Asian Games 2022 | R16 | 2-4 Pyon Songgyong
WTT CT Lima 2023 | R16 | 0-3 Pavade (forfeit during G2)
WTT CT Tunis 2023 | QF | 1-3 B. Takahashi
WTT SCT Bangkok 2023 | R16 | 0-3 Lily Zhang
WTT SCT Goa 2023 | R16 | 2-3 CIC (Hirano up 2-0)

Harimoto: 6
Nagasaki: 9

if results are all 3-0 and under 11-5, there won't be public relations issues regarding his court side

neverthless, I do believe the life span of CNT coaches will become shorter and shorter and a job that everyone wants to leave as early as possible

I'd like to watch Kihara/Harimoto WD SF.
Will the same link work ? or does someone have another one ?
as they are playing against the Korean pair and not a Chinese one, I'm afraid we won't be able to watch it there
if you use VLC you can do this following steps
Media --> Open network streams --> enter http://cvmtv.site/ into the network URL and press play, you get a whole playlist of international channels, in which Asian games live stream and CN channel like cctv5, 5+ and 16 have been included.

I'm not seeing the CCTV channels in the playlist when I do this. Will it be shown on HTV The Thao for the Viet channels?

Or do you know which ASIAD Special Live stream it'll be on?

Watching the mixed doubles is like a 3v1, Kihara just keeps making errors after errors.

Edit post-match: I wonder what the fate of both Kihara and Nagasaki will be. The 2000 line of Ito - Hayata - Hirano is still strong for at least 2 upcoming Olympics, Miwa's rapid growth means that she can already support the 3rd singles spot by Los Angeles. Yokoi and Odo are starting to show more of their potential in domestic competitions too. For now they are directed to play doubles but all I've seen is their team mates carry them, their singles performance hasn't shown much improvement.

it could be seen how having a leftie is a huge advantage for doubles. More angles and easier movement.

The Japanese could be seen bumping into each other a few times in the match.

The Korean pair played superbly while the Japanese made too many mistakes as the Koreans were too fast

No doubt about it. First Asian Games MS medal since Li Ching's bronze at Doha 2006. Second MS medal in history as well. Beating M. Yoshimura and LYJ in one go is quite a feat.

Sorry to LYJ but better luck next time.

The biggest joke of Asian Games 2022. The 2 teams that eliminated China get eliminated in the next round.

North Kimchi doesn't have a palate for Curry.
Cha Suyong/Pak Sugyong adapted well. Back to the basic. Cut back on sidespin. Alternate between backspin and no-spin. Use the push well. Something that "meathead" WYD and to an extent CM couldn't process in time.
