That someone could be me, but I'm leaning towards buying another N80 while it's still on sale since I've had excellent results with it. Yesterday within 1.5 hours!!! no one could knock me off the royal table, which has never happened to me before...
it's hard to buy N80 here, tell me what's special about it pls ?

It's pretty fast, faster than the Fastarc G1 on the other side if you work at a medium tempo and it can be much faster and more spin when powered up. At the same time, in the short game it is very controllable, blocks and hits without rotation are also good (much better than a hurricane), and the twist is beyond praise (comparable to a hurricane). I like everything now.
One of the advantages is also not a lot of weight, and one of the disadvantages is a rather low release angle, which limits backhand play, but for the forehand this is not a problem. Also on the downside, without softening with booster and oil, this rubber has virtually no ball holding time, so I found it difficult to play on a fast blade with a hard outer veneer, such as koto.
For a very long time (at least a year), N80 mostly lay idle. I tried to play with it and was very unhappy. Perhaps during this time the N80 softened, I don’t know. Therefore, I want to buy another new one to compare and understand what’s going on.

So N80 is faster than Rxton 9?

Loki Arthur China bought on aliexpress - 15 eur incl. shipping.

Okay, I've never seen anything like this before. Except when you've tuned a rubber way too much, then you remove it from the blade and it curls the other way. But at least this rubber doesn't feel like pudding.
I guess I'll have to give it one layer of booster.

That's weird. My sheet definitely didn't look like this. Let us know how the sponge survives the boosting

No worries, I had a black one that had a similar strong bulge . I glued it on anyway but then sold it to my coach after playing about 1 hour. When I took it of the blade it looked like yours.
I still have the cut-off corners, one still heavily curved and the other nearly flat after 1 layer of baby oil. I kept these corners mainly to check how long the baby oil treatment will last ..................2 months so far

that sponge and the top rubbers will do fine.
The young guy I sold my LAC to has been hammering the living bejeises out of it for 2 months and is still smiling.

I have the same story with the old Skyline and strengthening the sponge only made the situation worse. As far as I understand, in my case this happened because the sponge is very soft and adding a booster made the sponge even softer. Apparently, LAC has a very delicate sponge...

it is not really a problem and cases like these can be fixed less than 10 minutes, giving 2-3 application of the good old speedglue . It pays to have a small bottle in the fridge for just this purpose.

I keep it unopened so far, I will check maybe by starting from the worst. Rxton 9 based on many description is an A-tier rubber so would like to get used to Chinese rubbers on fh before I will use considered the one of the best :p starting from Sanwei Target National new. Tomorrow will apply the 3rd layer of Seamoon and glue it on spare Acoustic in the meantime my Sanwei Fextra 7 should come and it will be the next blade on which I can put something for testIng purpose 😜

This is NOT a review of Rxton 9, just some quick first impressions.
IMG20231104074751.jpg

After unpacking and side by side to a R5 the differences are there and they are weird. re R5, it was never revealed the actual hardness, it was simply given as very hard. The R9 is given as 40.5. Holding both of the rubbers in the hands the good old R5 still is a stiff as a brick but the R9 is limp, or soft and bendy.
R9 is as sticky as the very early R5 were.

First hit up, just as it came out of the packet with a couple of layers of Revo glue the rubber sure moves the balls along fast and I do not know how it does it because the blue sponge is quite hard when pressed with thumb and 1 finger and none of the strong catapult effects are there but somehow it works. The rubber also, for me at least, has a very similar "linear feel" that reminds me of the old hard 61seconds rubbers and also the PalioJC8000 one gets a comfortable feeling and the shots are easy to make and the control is brilliant.

Back home from the club night and time to boost......and here is where it all goes a bit weird. I did the first layer of Seamoon and after 8 hours there is a slight doming, as I expected. Doming got a bit more pronounced after applying the second layer but after 12 hours the doming had reverted back to what it was after the first layer : This is when I took the picture. There is no use to apply further booster because I had this happening to me before.
I also now remember why the blue sponge reminded me of some other rubber and now i got it ,the sponge is the same as on that weird R5 red rubber with blue sponge that was fitted to the 9 Star Racket from Loki .

More later , maybe 😂😂😂

Why did you apply the booster if you liked everything? Or did I misunderstand?

nope, you did not misunderstand it all comes from me not explaining myself properly.
This is a rubber for a proper Table tennis Athlete, which of course I am NOT.
When I said it was linear I might have used wrong words , what I meant to say is that the harder you hit the faster it gets, the rubber does not give an help for free.
At my age I do need a bit of help which is why I use a little bit of boosting..

The new R5 said 41 on the sponge.

Thanks buddy for pointing this out. I bought a stack of them when they still were sticky.
Actually this makes me even more confused. The R5 is harder than the R9 but the R5 feels great for me with a single application of seamoon
