Hurricane 3-50 or H3 Neo soft (37 degrees)?

Hello!

I saw that there are two verions of the Hurricane 3 that are softer than normal, the Hurricane 3-50 and 37 degree version of the normal NEO Hurricane 3, has anyone played them both? how are they different?

I have played with both which are designed for bh. In fact DHS has other rubbers specifically designed for BH.

H3-50 has a #50 sponge and the H3 37 has the usual #22 sponge.

The #50 sponge release sufficient speed with little effort.

The #22 sponge feels more dead.

But #22 has a higher ceiling of speed and spin than #50 sponge.

In China, the H3-50 is pretty much a flop and not much of a choice. The vast majority of people still choose H3 37 degree version for their backhand.

It was some years ago that I played with the H3-50, but I remember that it didn't do anything quite good. I think it's the softer sponge combined with the harder top sheet that didn't work for me in some way. No spin and no speed.

The H3 37deg is a better rubber for someone that has really good backhand technique I guess, but I have a hard time using H3 at all for backhand, so I'm stuck with my Yinhe Big Dipper 38deg for a bit softer touch.

• 3-50 meh. Better fergit bout tit. Too soft and no ommmph!
• 37? Hmmmm nice. Taste even better when toasted boosted. Just right, like marmadale and butter on a warm freshly toasted piece of sourdough.
• For you Americans, it is like jelly and peanut butter on a warm piece of toasted bagel.

My H3 37 weighs 42g cut to W968.

Don’t get me wrong, H8 is popular on FH and H8-80 are popular on BH. But they only work if you have the physical strength to drive them. They are designed to be heavy.

It's not really used much among amateur high-level players, who prefer the Neo H3 , and the H8 series doesn't sell very well, in China.

There are, but not many, and most people are H37 if BH uses Neo H3

You’ve just opened a can of worms 😂

Commercial H3 (regardless of Neo or not) has poorer QC. It means if you buy 5 sheets of commercial Neo H3 at 37 hardness, they will weigh quite differently. The reason behind this is the commercial version is not true to its described hardness. So some of these 5 sheets might be 38 hardness and others can be 39 or 36.

My Neo H3 37 is the provincial version, hence much more precise control.
