Side tape REALLY change the feeling or not? What do you think?

I've always played with both options, but I've never seen a difference in the game's feel... I've heard it changes spin, bounce and speed... Crazy asf šŸ˜‚

IMO, the only thing that would change would be the weight, but this is imperceptible during the game... There are heavy tapes and light tapes too.

I usually leave the tape off when it comes off, then I don't put another one on.

For me personally edge tape don’t make a difference but I have such a weird rule for myself:

When I have DHS Hurricane 3 Neo Blue Sponhe: No edge tape

When I have any other rubber: Edge tape

Currently I don’t use edge tape hahahahhaa

I've heard so much about this... I'm definitely going to try it, I've bought some tapes and I'm going to test!

There is a single, empirical difference - edge tape adds weight. Draw from that what conclusions you will.

The lightest edge tape I have is 2g assuming I tape around the whole racket head. I have some edge tape that is slightly thicker and likely weighs more. It can make the racket head feel slightly heavier. On a particularly head-heavy racket that I have, I can feel the difference with/without edge tape (again, talking about weight only). I don't know anything about speed/feel/spin etc. nor am I making a comment on those.

I understand, for some the weight issue can be really noticeable

If you put lead tape around it, sure, you'll notice.
If you put a bit of tape where it's needed, prob half the racket head, I still believe it's impossible to notice and basically just don't believe that you could notice 1 g in your hand. Sorry

It's impossible to notice the difference between edge tape or no edge tape.
It protects the edge of the blade, that's it
indeed. and whether it really does protect the edge is open to debate as well/

Yeah, true.
Works well for small hits, gentle knocks.
I've proper whacked blades with and without, it seems to stop it from splintering 'a bit' but not much else, blade still fairly gouged.
I still use it tho

I definitely feel a difference with and without edge tape. With edge tape, the feeling is a little more mushy, and crispy without. But I like edge tape because I tend to hit the table a lot, especially when serve receiving. My solution? Only cover the surface where I hit the table and leave the rest without edge tape.

šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø We can agree to disagree then, just offering my experience.
Of course, agree to disagree for sure but there's no way I'll ever believe that you can feel a 1g difference in your hand.
If you can then you have the feeling in your hands that Lionel Messi has in his feet šŸ˜‰
