Fastarc g1 vs hybrid mk

If anyone played with both rubbers i would apreciate few words on how they compare in term of speed and spin. Thx

Hi,
First, I am not a high level player... But, I have played G1 on FH for a longer time and now the MK in max.
The biggest differences are the higher level of control and the easiness the MK has.
I would think that spin and speed are very comparable. But, the technique how to produce it is different. For me the MK plays best with short movements at the table, perhaps the G1 is better when playing a bit away from the table with longer movement of the arm.

In regards to spin Tibhar hybrid MK has higher capability. Its also harder. I don't buy into talk about different technique, If its slower You hit harder. The real problem comes when the rubber is too fast. From what You are saying G1 is obviously faster with more catapult, this is probably true.

I am playing with Hybrid MK on my forehand and have no problem at half distance (rarely go beyond), this on an all+ blade.

I'm pretty sure g1 is harder feeling. It has a medium-hard topsheet while mk has a soft one. They have similar sponge hardnesses.

Its been a while since I played with G1, and I don't remember it being that hard. But I do remember it to be fast.
Hybryd MK has superb grip, better than any other ESN rubber I tried.

One thing is for sure though, I get more spin with hybrid MK than any other rubber I tried except for Tenergy05.
Glayzer and Glayzer 09c included (never played with any Dignics much so those are probably excluded.)

Note: I have RakzaZ, Tibhar hybrid K3, and some chinese rubbers yet to test, they probably want to have a say in this too

If You look again at my post I excluded Tenergy05 and I haven't got enough experience with Dignics to say anything but my guess is its also excluded.

One more thing Glazer09c feels a lot harder so You will need to dig in harder, and I think hybrid MK takes brushing very well. better than Glazer09c.

Bumping this thread, but can anyone who has recently or extensively played both rubbers care to comment anymore? G1 has low catapult, but is still considered a fast rubber. I see a lot of mention that MK is really slow, but is their speed fairly similar that it’s not that noticeable?

Which one would be better suited for an all-wood blade of a 2 wing looper? Im guessing MK would make a better bh rubber since the top sheet is somewhat softer than G1’s?

I have been playing with MK hybrid on and off across multiple types of blades in the last 2 years (inner carbon, outer synthetics ZL/AL), and most recently an 5 ply all-wood (YSE). I think it could be slow on receiving passive/low speed shots, however, it can be decently fast when you are proactive in your shots, IMO. And by "slow", I mean not bouncy. But I think that's why it's so good at keep pushes and touch shots short on the BH. And has good speed when you need it. But of course, some people like a bouncy and speedy BH, so it depends on the user. To me, the slight tacky surface is good at being insensitive to incoming spin, and the medium-hard sponge can be activated to be speedy when intended.

I also just switched by FH from G09c to G1, with the MK in the BH. Felt very good. G1 has less pure spin potential but feel more balanced in terms of speed than the G09c. G09c feel a little stiff and dead on the lower gears.


Yes, MK is better on BH due to soft topsheet, and G1 is fine on FH since the topsheet is stiffer. In my experience, the MK doesn't generate much spin during serves for some reason.
