IS BOOSTING CHEATING OR NOT?
I hope I don't start a sh*t storm by saying out my opinion:

I would say boosting is not cheating.

Why? The analogy I like to use is, let us say the speed limit for this stretch of highway is 90 km/h. We all know you can push the car to 95 km/h or even 98 km/h and the cop will not pull you over. If you try to go over 100 km/h, be ready to get pulled over.

So if the cops do not reinforce the speed limit until over 100 km/h, then is it legal or illegal to drive at 95 km/h on the freeway? Technically illegal. Is it cheating? Well, everyone is driving at 95 km/h and if you drive at 85 km/h, people will drive pass you and give you a dirty look.

Human nature is what human nature is. Everyone likes to push boundaries unless there is external restraint and check-and-balances.

My other reasons include if the rubber is allowed to be factory-tuned, then why is personally tuned rubber illegal? So athletes can just get their sponsors (Butterfly) to boost their Tenergy 05 but yet normal players cannot do so on their own?

Finally, some long pips players like to microwave their pips or leave them on the dash of the car. How are we supposed to reinforce that?

There are clear rules and standardized friction tests for that, actually.

...whether I agree with that is a different discussion.

Hello Roberto, do you think the baby oil would change the rubber properties or character?

Sadly i couldnt find that magic tear mender in my country.
I use lighter fluid to remove glue when I have trouble with it, the lighter fluid sort of melts the glue layer and residue and makes it a lot easier to remove.

Hey guys,
I'm updating my post with the translation of the instructions written on my Kailin bottle :

Instructions for use:

  • Apply 2-3 coats depending on your needs.
  • After it is completely dry, use a water-based adhesive for bonding. It is recommended to let it dry naturally.
Drying time:

  • Takes about 3-4 hours for each layer to dry, with each coat drying in about 30 minutes.
  • The overall drying time may vary depending on the environment.
Effective duration:

  • Approximately 15-20 days (depending on personal feeling and the conditions of use).
Storage:

  • Store in a sealed container, in a cool and dry place, and avoid direct sunlight. Keep away from fire sources.
Company address:

  • Room 410, Building 55, No. 709 Lingling Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai, China
Applicable rubber type:

  • High density sponge
About the Star National Hurricane 3. When you say it's completely different from H3 provincial/national blue sponge; is that in a good way or a bad way? Is star national h3 better/the next level up from national? Or just a different rubber altogether?

In my experience, nothing. Just do it the right way. You put the lighter fluid on a piece of cloth then rub the glue on the sponge.... If ever you'll pour lighter fluid on the sponge/glue try to put as little as possible.

Greetings!

Do you guys have any thoughts/opinions/insights on boosting a rubber, sealing it in a Ziploc, and setting it aside for a later use a couple months down the line?

Seems like from what I read earlier, the general consensus is that booster affects the sponge mechanically (as opposed to speed glue/VOC) so it would seem reasonable to assume that there would be some "booster effect" remaining? Of course, the sponge will have a long time to uncurl and we won't get that "fresh booster" flavor... I mean feeling... but there should still be some benefits, right?

Thanks for your insights!

As I do a lot of experimenting with blades and rubbers I actually get lot of that and have stacks of rubbers , normally in their original bag with little comments like maybe :
" as new, 2 hours, 3x seamoon".
There are quit a few of us that are convinced that once boosted a rubber never gets back to its original state and will always keep some "residual boosting effect ".
How much of it has , to my knowledge, never been measured and proved.

It makes it lighter 😂
english is a very difficult language but let me explain : Lighter fluid makes the fluid lighter, not the rubber.
If you want lighter rubber you have to go to the pharmacy and ask for rubber lighter fluid or just lighter rubbers but then the pharmacist might look at you in a funny way and say: " Ahh, you mean ribbed rubbers" ??

Oh dear, life is hard, i told you english is a difficult language. 😁

Great original post! I live in Shanghai and visit Tongce a lot, I believe your description is more detailed and logical than what I heard back in Shanghai! Thanks a lot!

Also in China, Haifu black oil(not the yellow one called "moon over the sea") is also a popular choice for boosting DHS H3.

NATION OF MORAL EXCELLENCES. WORTHY EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW.

Japanese is an unique nation of conspicuous personal honesty. Table tennis players of Japan, even if inside local leagues, none using boosters; nor they trading boosters domestically.

My greatest respect for them.

In contrast to Japan high morality, it is a bitter sight to see a whole nation using forbidden boosters with a free hand, --so poor morality it is. Just go to the chinamarket and you can get all the evidence of poor national morality. Sorry.
