I have high gloss paper temp-plates for every blade i own. To explain it simply :
After glue has been applied as usual, the template is carefully laid on the blade and the rubber is laid on top, aligned, then the temp-plate is removed and the rubber rolled down with a roller.

This is the short version.
In reality the template only goes down towards the handle but leaves a 15mm gap free. This gap is first covered by a separate strip of the paper. Once the rubber has been aligned that strip is pulled away, that part of the rubber is pressed on to the blade, then the top of the rubber is carefully lifted, the template pulled away and the rubber rolled on from bottom to top.

No, I will not make a video 😂

I was about to ask for a demonstration as its quote confusing but saw this 😂but wouldn't the glue stick to the plastic film?
Nope, nothing seems to stick to the high gloss white paper i use. If the rubber has shrunk the only way I know is to boost it which often enlarges the rubbers by a few mm

Haha, that looks perfect, just cover Your edge with some edge tape...

Cheers
this doesnt seem too bad, you could try putting a layer of edging tape where the gap is to cover it a bit, not sure if thats larger than the 2mm limit
I was planning to cover half of the edge to make it look better as its chinese h3 and blade but looks like ill need to cover the whole thing

What do you guys do if you glue a already cut rubber and its not aligned
I start by (before applying any glue) press the rubber to the blade and put a few pencilsmarks on the edge of the blade and edge of the sponge, a line at 9, 12 and 3 o clock.
Then when glue is applied line these marks up and align it from top to bottom.
That way, the rubber is flush around the edge of the blade and there's a 2-3 mm gap at the bottom above the blade handle.
Works for me
