Hey folks,

I have large hands and currently have a FL handle paddle. I have notice a few folk in the club have straight handles, and although I did not have a chance to play with a ST handle, they looked like they're a tad bit longer? Was wondering if they are more comfortable to play with for folks like myself that have large hands (6'5 tall for reference, not sure what my hand dimension is lol)?

I've been eyeing a sweet nittaky acoustic blade but I don't want to buy it just because my EJ is kicking in haha

Thank you,
Nik

best is for you to test out ST, since its all personal preference.

I won't want to suggest you to buy both FL and ST and tell us, as that would be the calling card from EJ community, lol

I know some folks with large hands who still prefer the FL handle but they sand the ends (the most flared part) down a little to give a bit more comfort in the hand. Otherwise the flare kind of sticks into the palm. With just a little bit of sanding it works well. Just an observation that may be useful!

Oh very interesting, I never thought of that! Would you say though that, on average, folks with large hands prefer ST handle?

I think yes. Above a certain hand size the ST seems popular so it could well be worth a try for you. And grip tape also can help. Stiga do one that's quite thin so it adds only a little to the handle width and doesn't take away all the feel

I had custom made fatter and slightly longer handles made for many of my PPP blades in my sig... cost me 20 usd for each set.

You could also get with SDC blades or another custom blade maker and ask around how you would want handle shape size and length.

Kinda like a Burker King ur way.

Stiga legend handle is very comfortable, sadly you have such a massive weight difference.
I have a stiga Carbonado 45 in 83 grams and 97 gram.
The 97 grams is 20% faster and a lot harder, not to mention more muscle to swing.

Also have these in legend:
Wrb carbo 7.6
Wrb offensive classic
Wrb all around
8 Carbonado's.

I'll probably use 3 of these blades in my life, but it is fun collecting them.

I have the Acoustic G-Revision in ST and I would say the length is not suitable for large hands if that's what you're looking for.

Acoustic original is for small hands. Acoustic G-Revision is for ordinary sized hands (by Western standards).

The Yasaka Resonate handle is so far the bulkiest hands I've used so see if you can find a blade with similar handle.

How about the “LG handle” on the regular nittaku acoustic?

I also have large hands and find it hard to hold smaller paddles. I've had a lot of success with Stiga blades.

If you like straight handles, Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black has a nice big handle.
Oh interesting, what stiga blades wouls you recommend? And will check out sasmonov one thank you!

This puzzels me quite a bit. Are we really that few? And are my hands really that big? Stiga once made reasonably large (normal!!) flared handles but they stopped. Market is probably smaller than I imagine but really...?

Omar Assar blade has Large FL handle except normal FL. Maybe he has same problem with big hands ...
