... and are they true to size or similar to #8? I use EU 45 in #8, which means I have a full width of my thumbprint of open space infront of my foot in the shoe, just to make sure they are not too narrow. The weight of them are 330 grams.

If I measure the widest part of my forefoot straight across, I get 11 cm (4.33 inches)
the newer mizuno model 9 are a bit wider so i went with half a size smaller. my wave drive 8 are in 26.0JP/40.5 and weigh 275g

Another vote for Mizuno Wave Drive (7,8,9). I have wide feet and these shoes are so far the best I have had.
I used to play with BFY Lezoline Mach. First model I had, the tounge just fell off after wearing it once - bad sewing I guess. Second ones I had to throw out after like 1 year. I would not recommend Butterfly shoes.

A lot of players in my club are using Asics shoes, I guess those are alright.

Those are the Sanwei shoes, rebranded.
looks 1 to 1 like my speedart shoes
Yup these are the exact same shoes as Speed Art and Sanwei. The original maker is Speed Art, and Sanwei rebranded it first and someone at Yasaka is smart enough to ask to rebrand it as theirs.

Nothing new about this, there are dozens of Mizuno Wave Drive rebrands and those are dogshit in comparison to this.

Having speedart for 5+ month now. Still really really really grippy and the boa is still working. The only thing that might be a downside is that they absorb moisture, so I bought some silicia gel beads for my blades and shoes to avoid the huminidity after playing.

There is also slight dust stain where the glue job was done on top of the shoe. Doesn't bother me that much, since you expect white shoes to get dirty.

Which table tennis shoes are the most breathable? All the Li Ning shoes I’ve tried are not
The Mizuno WaveDrive 8 has plenty of mesh and so it's got good breathability. I can't compare it to many other TT specific shoes but against most tennis shoes and runners I've owned they stack up favourably. My feet sweat alot and I find them good. I powder them once a week and after 2 yrs they're still in great shape

i played mizuno wave drive 8 and 9 and they are both breathable and don't start to smell if you just let them dry for one night. asics are horrible compared to them. i think it is a really good tabletennis shoe, only that it is designed for proper TT flooring and sometimes has problems with grip in some courts.

Ankle-roll-or-ankle-sprain.png

one does not need to be FZD to get injured like above, just a wrong step/jump and a pair of high (running) shoe will work, especially while standing straight.

I've prefer any cheap low sneakers over expensive high running shoes for TT.

edit:
I'm leaving this one also for better demonstration (TMI: I've injured like this years ago, it sucks) For me, a proper TT shoe is the most important TT equipment rather than blade, rubber etc.

Agree strongly with this. Once you injure/sprain your anterior talofibular ligament (ATFL), it's so much more prone to injury. This is such a common injury and probably one of the most common patient reasons for coming to foot and ankle clinic.

If you do sprain your ankle, we generally recommend resting, icing, and using an ankle brace for a few weeks. Of course, this information is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice.

What’s the name of the Yasaka version? Wish these came with laces, because I feel like the boa system will fail eventually, and laces just look better imo, but I still might cop.
It should be Yasaka Jet something something. Like it's written on the box. Since then I also saw some Tibhar branded shoe, but that had a bit different upper part than the usual Speed Art/Sanwei shoe. Still it was very obvious that it's the same Speed Art base.

Good to see that this model is catching on.

The only other word I can make out on the box is something Warrior. I just wanted to see if they had other colors from the Speed Arts and a lower price. Might just cop the Sanwei's tho.
