Arthur Asia and Moon 12 M+

My friend is a long time HL5 with D09c/D64 user. But he was curious about Chinese rubbers because of all my equipment.

So he ordered a setup I suggested of Loki Arthur Asia and Moon 12 M+ and boosted both sides.

LAA boosted very closely replicates D09c. It had very very high speed, and the high tacky spin you expect from a Chinese rubber. Both of us agreed it produces powerful loops, and there is no real drawback from D09c.

Moon 12 did a very good job of replicating D64. Didnt find too much wrong with it, and its a bit easier than my H- version.

But definitely LAA stood out as an excellent choice. It seems slightly less arc than LAC though.

No big difference. Moon 12 doesnt need or respond to boosting

My experience has been very different. I boosted Moon 12 M+ with one layer of Seamoon and it has now become my favorite rubber of all time. I played with it for 2 months without booster and was about to throw it away because it didn't suit my game. Just put on a layer for fun to see what happens.

I have never seen a rubber change so much after boosting.

Without booster, it was just a good control rubber, nothing special. With booster, however, I have beaten players I could never beat just because no matter if the opponent's ball is fast, slow, flat or spinny, if you put the bat in front of it, it will land on the table.

Also, flicks without booster are safe, with it, they become dangerous because of both speed and spin.

However, the biggest issue for me was that it was very difficult to make loaded pushes with it because the topsheet is very unreactive. Without them, I couldn't shut down big forehands. After boosting, I have gotten games from these opponents just by pushing and blocking.

I bought this rubber because in one of the threads, someone described it as a blocking monster. That description rings true only with booster for me.

However, I have only tried one sheet and these rubbers can be quite inconsistent, so it is entirely possible for us to have different experiences.
