Removing sealet

I sealed my dhs king blade with the revolution sealer, but now i want to remove it as the rubbers and glue is not sticking well. Is there a way to easily remove the revolution sealer?

What sandpaper do you recommend? Like what grit?

Just a few passes with 400 grit should be fine. I wouldn't recommend 200 or lower, going 600-800 will still work. Higher than that doesn't make much sense

Agree. If the sandpaper is too fine one just ends up polishing the surface not actually sanding it.
I personally always use a block. It is called block sanding (google it ) and when used properly one avoids rounding the edges of a blade. When the edges have been rounded often rubbers will come loose and start to peel off the the blade.

But it is actually correct. We suggested a light sand and this will the make rubbers stick much better BUT it will not remove the sealer because sealer is supposed to penetrate the wood , not just stay on the very surface. How deep the liquid seeps into the wood depends on the sealer AND of cause the kind of wood.

But on another note, to the thread opener: How many layers of sealer have you applied?
This is the first time I hear that obviously a sealer caused rubbers not to stick well. I suspect you have applied way too much. Usually, one thin layer does the trick.

240 is fine enough. 3M sanding blocks are very handy.

Then make small circular motions just enough to roughen the surface lightly with micro scratches. Don’t sand through the sealer.

yeah I think i applied way to many layers or it was just to thick, I honestly dont remember how many, more than 1 i think
