Hi,
I bought a viscaria blade from a friend and I am not sure it is real or fake. I think that it is 90 percent real but I want to be sure.
Can you say it is real from these photos. I also have its box and the serial number is same on it and the blade

Nice blade. That is practically one of the only blade models that students here in SG who go for competition like to use. That and the Stiga Clipper or Long 5 and sometimes we see yinhe t-11s with big dippers.

You can check the serial number with Butterfly, [email protected].

I'm no Butterfly expert but judging from the photos, if it's a fake it's a brilliant fake!
It just looks good, the grain, the wood and the very clearly printed serial #.

Mines not a Viscaria but here's the bottom of the handle

Well you probably can't.
I understand if you wrote to Butterfly Europe and they just told you to piss off! 😂

But other, less irritating, people can. 😁
when your done pulling yourself you can tell everybody here how it works 😁
Unlike , for example DHS, Butterfly will not confirm legality of a blade by the number on it. With lots of photos and a receipt that proves the blade has been sold by an approved Bty seller they might help a bit.

and of course I contacted Butterfly Australia not Europe and definitely not Italy. Are they still trying to sell Swiss watches to the tourists down at the beaches ?? 😂

😂 😂

I agree with the other posters that it's genuine. There is nothing that indicates that the blade might be fake...and speaking of serial numbers: I sometimes wished that people would not post the serial number of these kind of blades.
"Counterfeit artists" also use the internet and are on the look for new serial numbers that they can use for their fake blades. This can (theoretically) lead to some difficulties identifying a blade as a fake one, particularly for people that do not know much about these kind of blades and/or how to identify a fake Butterfly blade.
When I wanted to sell a Butterfly blade in the past and the buyer wanted to see some pictures, I always put some sticky paper clips over the serial number (or at least over part of the number)...

butterfly europe used to do it.
but they could only check blades imported through their channels (meaning, the one they supplied to European resellers).
but I was told a while ago, they stopped doing it.
I don't know the reason why they stopped.
Regarding the rest of the worlds (it is mostly run by the distributors and not necessary butterfly directly), I have heard they dont bother entertain serial number checking.

I was told Japan would... but then again, if they do have the database, why not making it a section of the site for the sake of brilliant customer service.
Otherwise, what is the whole reason of serial numbers if no one can check anything :p

Oh, and the pictures looks fine to me.
